I am happy to report that we are fulfilling our trim a nail a day resolution and it is working well. We even manage to remember doing it every day!
18 cuts down!
At first the guys were a little apprehensive, now they don't even flinch. That part of the idea is definitely working which I'm very happy to see. And it's easier on us as well, because there is no stress involved and it's over before you can say nail trim.
While the nails themselves still have some ways to go, they are on their way to the proper length.
Cookie was at the vet on Friday for blood work follow up. We had them trim the fur between her toes because it's gotten long and collected snow, ice and mad floors more slippery. I was hoping they'd use clippers, and they did. They trimmed it right down between the toes. Cookie was so good they even put it in their medical notes!
And we were able to tell them not to worry about the nails because we are on top of it.
This was a great idea. I'm glad I thought of it.
It works just as I hoped and even better.
As a side note, Cookie's paw pad is fully healed too. Took a little while with her being as active as she is but we managed to get it healed. It took lot's of cleaning, bandaging and fussing but didn't need any antibiotics.
