Many of you have gotten Sams obit from online or in print. So I won' go through the
humanitrian obit aspect. "Just the facts Maam," as was said in a famed U.S. detective tv
series. ---- On November 6, 2014, Sam Mbah died of a heart condition. Sam was with the
1000 member @ Nigerian Awareness League (AL). The now disbanded semi anti-authritarian
semi-Trotskyist Revolutionary Socialist League (RSL) (who became anarchists and
libertarian socialists- some and others are involved in pub. Utopian) gave me Sam's
address. I took it to a meet of the flagship group Neither East Nor West-NYC (NENW-NYC)
and we (I) ran with it as did co-member Mitch of the Workers Solidarity Alliance (WSA).

Among our accomplishments was to hastily organize at moments notice (with much help from
Steve R. of WSA/NENW-NYC) a less than stellar tour of the U.S. for Sam. Time, time, time-
$, $, $,... PLENTY OF PEOPLE/GROUPS TO MEET THOUGH!

I called @ D.L.Nevins who knew short range radio, raised some $ for him, and he did the
rest meeting Sam, overcoming some hurdles in a freer Nigeria and they set up shop.
During the dictatorship under an emergency decree 3 members of the AL were busted.
We went to town gathering $1600, sending our usual appeal in different languages, and like
we did many times calling for a day of international actions. A bunch had actions at
Nigerian targets. IT WORKED! The 3 were quickly freed with a hastily, thankful, happy
letter from Sam to us. The pic of the 3 laughing with their arms 'round each other was
published in the On Gogol's Boulevard (OGB) [which in its hayday had separate issues,
alot going to the East- after that we had may sections in @ pubs.] section in the now
defunt U.S. Black Fist.
Sam credited Ron Tabor of the still RSL with his series in the RSL'S The Torch/La Antorcha
"A Look At Leninism" which trashed Lenin. Sam said it really excited them!
We spread word like mad of the AL before cell and email times around the world... MANY
MANY letters, $...Many confiscated...
According to Sam in a letter to WSA the AL for varied reasons is sadly gone- anyone with
other AL contacts please spread.
