 M. Bernard CAZENEUVE, Ministre de l’Intérieur, salue chaleureusement l’élection de M. Fabrice LEGGERI comme directeur exécutif de FRONTEX, l’Agence européenne pour la gestion de la coopération opérationnelle aux frontières extérieures des États membres de l’Union européenne. La confiance ainsi accordée par le conseil d’administration de l’agence au candidat français constitue une reconnaissance de l’implication particulière de la France sur ce dossier et les qualités de son candidat.
L’importance de FRONTEX est cruciale, au regard des enjeux liés aux frontières extérieures de l’Union Européenne.
Le Ministre de l’Intérieur assure M. LEGGERI et l’agence FRONTEX dans son ensemble de la détermination du gouvernement français à permettre aux Etats membres de l’Union européenne de mieux faire face aux défis pesant sur ses frontières extérieures, en particulier au Sud et à l’Est.
