As such it is mainly meant for people already active in the constellation, or which are aware/informed on the dynamics and last discussions of the network. But everybody is welcome!

We choose to have this assembly in the UK to create more links with the UK and Scotland RTF groups who have been having regional meetings themselves. You can find out more about this here

We choose these dates (as besides our garden/farm activities might be more relaxed at this time a year) as it follows the Oxford Real Farming Conference (an alternative to an agro-business conference happening simultaneously) taking place just before the assembly in Oxford (UK) on 6th and 7th of January. All RtF-ers are very much invited to take part (take into account there is a participation fee of about 35 £).
The Landworkers Alliance (UK branch of Via-Campesina) is facilitating a whole day at this conference. Reclaim the fields UK and Europe as well as the newly formed Groundspring network (a new entrants to farming support group made up of organic, biodynamic apprentices and others wanting to make change and get into farming) are very much invited to share their experiences on how we can procreate changes to move agriculture forward.

Call-out for funding
At the last assembly in Austria, it was said that part of the ‘RtF-money’ would be used to pay for people’s travel costs in order to facilitate participation and as such lesson burden on people’s daily expenses. But we also said it would be great to not end up with no reserves, therefor it was asked to people, collectives and local groups to try to gather this amount so we can maintain the reserves. As such we want to use this invitation to ask you, if possible, to organise benefit dinners, parties, actions, and other inventive creations to try to gather these funds so we can be solidary with people that have less capacity to gather these.Registration:

Some background on the last European meeting and general RtF-info
At the last European meeting in February 2014 in Nikitsch/Austria we worked on the functioning of the RtF-constellation. This is what came out:
We still understand RtF as an organizational constellation of stars which is in constant movement and process. Stars are persons, collectives or projects who/which share the RtFs values and relate themselves and their work to the RtF goals. The stars are organized and meet in local networks which are autonomous and have their own objectives. The local networks are the base of the RtF constellation since it is essential for RtF to work from the bottom up.
Apart from the local networks, there are seven working groups (website, bulletin, translation, finance, propaganda, infokiosk and a group organizing the next meeting). And five thematic groups (seeds, farm network, gender, access to land and presentation of RtF).

- Thematic meetings take place whenever people/local networks/working groups organize one. The idea is to work on specific topics. This can be for example a discussion of concepts, an exchange on agricultural techniques and knowledge or the support of a local struggle.
- European camps take place in summer and are bigger and take longer than the other meetings. The objective is to make RtF grow by „going to new places“, support local struggles and share skills, knowledge and ideas.
h2. The last two camps took place in Rosia Montana/Romania in 2011 and in Manheim/Germany in 2013. There is the proposal to do the next camp in 2015 in Chalkidiki/Greece.

Pourquoi
L’objectif de cette rencontre est d’abord de se retrouver pour faire le point sur l’état de la constellation Reclaim the Fields au niveau européen, et échanger des informations entre étoiles et groupes locaux. Ce sera aussi l’occasion de concrétiser les nouvelles formes d’organisation décidées lors des dernières rencontres (en Autriche). En se rendant au Royaume-Uni, il s’agit également de retisser un lien avec les personnes et collectifs présent.e.s sur place et échanger autour des dynamiques locales. Cette rencontre sera un espace de travail et de réflexion pour les groupes locaux et thématiques actifs au sein de RtF. Elle est donc essentiellement ouverte à des personnes déjà impliquées dans la constellation, ou s’étant informées des dernières discussions et dynamiques du réseau. Mais tout le monde est bienvenu!
Programme
Arrivée souhaitée dans la journée du jeudi 8 octobre afin d’avoir un week end complet pour le partage d’expériences, les réunions et la préparation des suites à donner. La seconde journée sera dédiée au travail des groupes et à un débat thématique ; la troisième à l’organisation des prochaines assemblées et camps. Il est prévu de consacrer le dimanche à l’écriture du bilan des rencontres, et si nécessaires à du temps en plus pour les groupes de travail. Le lundi celleux qui le souhaitent pourront donner un coup de main aux travaux collectifs sur place.

Pourquoi ce lieu et ces dates ?
La décision a été prise de faire cette assemblée au Royaume Uni afin de consolider les réseaux avec les groupes locaux RTF du RU et de l’Ecosse qui ont aussi eu des rencontres locales / régionales. Plus d’infos ici (en anglais)
Nous avons choisi ces dates car, outre le fait que nous activités paysannes seront certainement moins intenses a cette période, les rencontres suivront ainsi le “Colloque de l’Agriculture Réelle d’Oxford” (une alternative a une conférence d’agrobuisiness ayant lieu simultanément) qui aura lieu les 6 et 7 janvier. Nottingham est pile au milieu du Royaume-Uni, accessible de façon abordable en bus ou train. Depuis Londres : le Oxford Tube et le Oxford Express (trains). En bus : mega buses et national express. Il y a eu une candidature à un fond pour essayer de couvrir les frais de déplacement, de façon à ce que toustes celleux qui le veulent puissent venir. A propos du centre qui nous accueille
Le centre Sumac est un centre social et communautaire, tenu bénévolement et basé dans le quartier de Forest Fields à Nottingham. Il accueille de nombreux groupes communautaires et radicaux et est organisé sur des bases non hérarchiques. Il y a beaucoup d’espace à l’intérieur pour se réunir et de quoi loger des gens dans le centre et la coopérative d’habitation qui est juste de l’autre côté de la rue. On aura des lits, de l’espace, des douches et du chauffage en hiver !
Veggies, un collectif de cuisine basé sur le centre organisera l’approvisionnement en nourriture locale et la cuisine. Ils font de la nourriture végan pour supporter des actions pour l’humain, les autres animaux et l’environnement depuis 1984. Nous aiderons tout de même en cuisine, et toute nourriture que vous voudriez amener sera la bienvenue. On peut rentrer en contact avec les nombreux projets paysans ou liés à l’alimentation à Nottingham (comme ecoworks.org.uk /summerwood.org.uk/).

Waarom:
In deze meeting willen we naast informatie en ervaringen uitwisselen tussen de verschillende ‘sterren’ en lokale netwerken van het Europese Reclaim the Fields sterrenstelsel, ook vooral een stand van zaken maken. - maandag 12/1: gezamenlijk klussen op of rond Sumac Centre

We kozen deze data (naast het feit dat het iets kalmer is qua planten, zaaien en wieden) omdat de dagen ervoor (6 en 7 januari) in Oxford de Real Farming Conferentie georganiseerd wordt. Dit is een alternatief voor een industrieel landbouwevent dat simultaan plaatsvindt. Het programma kan je vinden op oxfordrealfarmingconference.org.
Alle RtF-ers zijn er van harde uitgenodigd (hou er wel rekening mee dat er toegangsgeld van 35£ is en je best inschrijft). De Landworkers Alliance (UK-lid van Via-Campesina) faciliteert een hele dag op deze conferentie.

Het Sumac Centre is een sociaal en gemeenschapscentrum gerund door vrijwilligers in Forest Fields in Nottingham. Ze bieden een plek aan radicale en gemeenschapsgroepen en werken volgens basis-democratische priincipes. Er is een grote ruimte voorzien voor onze meeting alsook slaapplekken binnenshuis zowel in het centrum als in een samenwoon-cooperatief aan de overkant. Ze werken volgens een ’glijdende’inkomstenschaal. We zullen toegang hebben tot warme slaap- en werkruimte alsook douches in de winter.

Uiteraard zullen we de kooktaken delen en zijn jullie zelfgeteelde groentjes en brouwsels zeker welkom! In de buurt zijn verschillende (radicale) voedsel(gerelateerde)projecten waar we ook een link mee kunnen aanhalen (zoals ecoworks.org.uk / summerwood.org.uk/).
Call-out voor funding
Op de laatste assembly in Oostenrijk, hebben we beslist dat we een deel van het ‘RTF-geld’ zouden besteden aan het vergoeden van reiskosten. Zo kunnen we de deelname vergemakkelijken en de last op mensen hun dagelijkse uitgaven verminderen. Maar we bedachten ook wel dat het fijn zou zijn om niet met een lege rekening achter te blijven, dus maken we graag gebruik van deze uitnodiging om jullie te vragen om in de mate van het mogelijke benefiet etentjes, -feestjes, – en andere creatieve bedenksels te organiseren. Zo kunnen we samen fondsen verzamelen en solidair zijn met degenen die minder capaciteit hebben.

Tijdens de laatste EU meeting in februari 2014 in Nikitsch/Oostenrijk hebben we vooral onze manier van functioneren onder de loep genomen. Dit is het resultaat:
We beschouwen RtF nog steeds als een organisatorisch sterrenstelsel dat continu in beweging is. De sterren die hier deel van uitmaken zijn personen, collectieven of projecten die de waarden van RtF delen en zichzelf en hun werk kunnen linken aan de RtF doelstellingen. De sterren organiseren zich op een lokaal niveau en spreken af in lokale netwerken die autonoom zijn en hun eigen doelstellingen hebben. De lokale netwerken zijn de basis van het RtF netwerk aangezien een bottom-up- werkwijze een basiswaarde is binnen RtF.

Naast de lokale netwerken zijn er zeven werkgroepen (website, bulletin, vertaling, financiën, propaganda, infokiosk een een groep die volgende meeting organiseert). Er zijn vijf thematische groepen (zaden, boerderijen netwerk, gender, toegang tot land en presentatie van RtF).
Op Europees niveau zijn er drie verschillende soorten meetings:
- Werkmeeting eenmaal per jaar tijdens de winter (deze dus :)). De doelstelling is hier om feedback te verzamelen van de werkgroepen, volgende kamp te organiseren en nieuws uit te wisselen uit de lokale netwerken over wat er allemaal leeft lokaal.
- Thematische meetings vinden plaats wanneer mensen/lokale netwerken/werkgroepen deze organiseren. Hierbij wordt gewerkt rond een specifiek thema. Dit kan bijvoorbeeld een uitwisseling zijn over landbouwpraktijken, kennisuitwisseling over lokale strijd of eerder theoretische discussie zijn.
- Europese kampen vinden plaats in de zomer en zijn groter en langer dan de andere meetings. Hier is de doelstellingen op RtF te verspreiden door naar „nieuwe plekken“ te gaan, lokale strijd de onderstunen en vaardigheden, kennis en ideeën uit te wisselen.
The laatste 2 kampen vonden plaats in Rosia Montana/Roemenië in 2011 en in Manheim/Duitsland in 2013. Er is een voorstel om het volgende kamp in 2015 in Chalkidiki/Griekenland te organiseren.
