Frontex published a statement about its participation in joint police
operation (JPO) #MosMaiorum:

they explain that their official task does not allow to participate in
police controls inside the EU. this is true, they are responsible not
for schengen but for external borders, which were never before part any JPO.
but now they are for the first time, according to the document leaked by
statewatch.
even if frontex did not took part in former JPO, they always received
and processed the statistics.
