The Royal Malaysian Air Force successfully conducted two missile firings � an anti ship and anti-radiation versions of the Kh-31 supersonic missile on Sept 20.According to a Press statement by the Defence Ministry today, the missile firing exercise was conducted by a single Sukhoi Su-30MKM of the 11 Squadron off the coast of Sabah.
�To ensure the success of the missile firing exercise, detailed planning and coordination were carried out by the Air Operations Headquarters together with the squadron involved.�RMAF also work closely with other agencies namely the Royal Malaysian Navy, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency , Department of Civil Aviation and Petronas to ensure the successful conclusion of the exercise.�The success of the missile firings is a considerable footnote in the history of the RMAF as both missiles fired successfully destroyed the target.�The success also prove the confidence of the RMAF of its weapon systems and its readiness,� the statement concluded.
