November 21, 2013, during the student movement of Lyon II , 6 students were forcibly
removed from the campus and placed in custody for twenty-three hours because of their
intrusion into a Presidency Council. ---- Three-Student Solidarity trade unionists -
including two activists of Libertarian Alternative (Julie and Myriam) - had been charged
with "aggravated violence" and "rebellion" for two of them. ---- They and they were
accused of beating security guards brought the fire which barred the entrance of the
auditorium their safety and have resisted the police during arrest.
Julie was acquitted, but Vincent and Miriam were sentenced respectively six months and
three months suspended, and must pay a total of 4,350 euros in court costs, repayment of
attorney fees to the opposing party and compensation to complainants . They chose not to
appeal.
They must also pay 1,000 euros to their lawyers.
To help deal with these legal fees, we appeal to the solidarity of each and all,
individuals and organizations.
