Taxpayer supported institute at Columbia to boycott Israel?

From Martin Kramer's Facebook page a taxpayer-supported Middle East Studies institute at Bir Zeit on the Hudson is calling for a boycott of Israel:

Lila Abu-Lughod, anthropologist at Columbia, has just signed a letter in
which she “pledge[s] not to collaborate on projects and events
involving Israeli academic institutions.” Fine for her, but she’s also
director of Columbia’s Middle East
