A year after the murder of Clement Meric, the extreme right has the wind in its sails, and
the antifascist struggle is more important than ever. It is expressed at various levels
(political and labor, local and national), and must always be carried out in a unitary
perspective. ---- The municipal elections of March 2014 were dominated by the massive
abstention due to particular political betrayals and antisocial PS / EELV government and a
media processing opens an avenue to the National Front. ---- It is in this context that
the extreme right has won fourteen cities, a network of 1,500 councilors, besides many
cities gangrenous. Situation that resonates with the dynamics experienced by a large
number of right-wing political organizations in Europe (Greece, Hungary, Denmark,
Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Italy, Switzerland, Austria ...) in the context of elections
European.
The extreme right is also present in France through radical factions said, leading racist
violent acts against homophobic and anti-fascists. These young activists are trying to
implement locally creating new places "identity" and militias in an anchoring strategy and
"reconquest" in the image of what is happening in the north of France, in Brittany and in
the Lyon region. And if some organizations (Third Way, Youth nationalists, French Work)
were dissolved by the government after the murder of Clement Meric, they are immediately
recreated under other names and retain their power to harm.
National and local public coordination
Finally, since 2012 there has been a broadening and visibility of reactionary forces, as
expressed in the context of Catholic fundamentalists events, the "PROTESTS for all", and
since early 2014, so-called "Day of Wrath" and "Days initiatives withdrawal from school
"integrating Dieudonn?-Soral networks. Here we have to fight against the building of
bridges against nature that could allow a synergy of these forces. Several anti-fascist
demonstrations and countered the "Days of Rage" local.
Since the murder of Clement Meric, militant anti-fascist member of Student Solidarity-es
and Action-fascist Paris suburbs (Afa) and that Pavlos Fyssas Greece in September 2013,
the unit struggles have increased and several international meetings held in Athens and
Budapest.
Thus in France, many local collectives have created, combining the best of unions,
associations, political, and individuals. Several anti-fascist mobilisations were
organized, such as national Marseille in September 2013, or locally against rallies FN
allowing the anti-fascist resistance to limit the echo.
The "Clement" network set up in June 2013 consists of 80 organizations (collective
antifascists, trade unions, associations, political organizations) that call for
antifascist demonstrations on June 7. Relatively informal so far, it allows you to share
all the stories structures and different modes of action.
If more broad antifascist national network and therefore unit exists across what could be
in the 1990s Ras network Front is the Conex today which seems to have intended to
coordinate local associations and collectives. National conferences are scheduled for 28
and 29 June 2014 in Paris.
More specifically, AL, CGA and CNT have driven a fascist libertarian campaign, which
deserves to grow and is in any event a dynamic too modest given the stakes.
Against the spirit Lepenization
The response is also organized at the union level, for concrete action with employee-es.
Solidarity writes a regular newsletter, the CGT and the FSU also produce equipment.
Moreover, the unitary national initiative of the day January 29, 2014 continues and is
available locally (25 unit departmental initiatives have already taken place), especially
in the cities conquered by the FN where it is planned to implement local observatories.
This inter-campaign, unpublished, is undoubtedly one of the most important points of
support in the fight against the spread of ideas of the extreme right in the world of work.
Visa (Vigilance union initiatives antifascists) publishes brochures and organizes
increasingly union formations throughout the country. First Visa county was created in the
Bouches-du-Rh?ne, and other local Visa are being created. Specific initiatives to
professional fields are also undertaken such interventions and actions of South CGT
education unions face in the days of withdrawal from school of loss-coupling Belghoul
Soral-Dieudonn?, or the South, CNT-SO CNT and denouncing the creation of collective Racine
(teachers pro-FN), or the South who called PTT postal workers to refuse to distribute
electoral propaganda of the FN. One can also cite the recent mobilizations
Sotteville-l?s-Rouen, Caen Memorial, Grenoble, Chauny, Villers-Cotterets while the FN
mayor refused to commemorate the abolition of slavery in Belmont-sur- Rance (Aveyron),
Mirande (Gers), etc..
Certainly, Lepenization minds develops over many years, exacerbated by the worsening
political and social situation in France conducted by various governments. While the PS
betrayed campaign promises of those who wanted to believe. Certainly, if the right has not
imploded so far, it clearly operates a rapprochement with the extreme right which it
mostly takes the ideas. Certainly, the traditional responses moral fascism, republican
today are clearly insufficient. Certainly, the weakening of the extreme left and attempted
manipulation of the Left Front does not favor the unit work. Of course, libertarians are
still struggling to think and act together. But consciousness is awakened.
With other organizations, AL involved with all his strength to the development of tools to
fight, to initiate mobilization to combat right-wing extremism. It is on the social
terrain that the battle must be waged articulated with other struggles such as racism,
feminism, unionism, internationalism, and the form of practical solidarity. Against all
forms of fascism is an alternative project federalist society, self-management,
libertarian we need!
