Oppressors States: Basques in war ---- In the early 1980s, the Spanish government moves to
the second leg of his "democratic transition" period where really settle new capitalist
forces, with the arrival of the ruling Socialists. But it is also the period when the
foundations of the struggles and political activities are taking place in the Basque
Country, in particular Hegoalde (Basque Country South). ---- But here, speaking different
struggles and activists tools that appear at this time and still present today, the author
will talk about autonomous struggles and libertarians, in a region where the suppression
of the Spanish and French states for Iparralde (Northern Basque Country ) and everything
is still politically rebuild after Franco years, ultra-nationalist and ultra-conservative.
Repression continues for everything regionalist, particularly in the Basque country
(especially with the advent of anti-terrorist Liberation Groups).
The book does a good inventory of various autonomous movements and libertarians those
years, different struggles. Moreover, each chapter is about a specific topic, struggles or
tools various militants (fanzines, processions atheists, squats, anti-militarism, etc..).
All ending with archive documents, single items up comics or cartoons. What is also very
interesting to watch is how the author shows a confrontation, not only with the Spanish
and French states, but also with the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV), conservative and
controlling the local police (Ertzainza) and abertzale left who wants to be on progressive
hegemonic struggles. Finally, I would say not explain evil specificity political dynamics
in the Basque Country, for example on gaztetxes (youth centers self-directed), or the
liberation movement of Basque political prisoners
