4th Annual Stall & Workshop Call-Out for Participants ---- This is a call-out to
independent booksellers, zinesters, activist groups and individuals who would like to run
a stall or a workshop at this year's Bookfair. Over the past 4 years, the Melbourne
Anarchist Bookfair has gathered hundreds of people from Melbourne and beyond to share
ideas, attend workshops and strengthen networks. In the past we have had info and
discussions covering topics such as Anarchism, Aboriginal and Indigenous Sovereignty, Land
Rights and Colonialism, Sexism and Gender, Feminism, Justice, Sexual Assault, Workplace
Struggles, Community Spaces, Environmental Action and much more. We hope this year will
continue to build on the ideas and networking and welcome a broader audience and
participation. So please get involved and be a part of the 4th Melbourne Anarchist Bookfair!

Over 40 stalls will be available in the main hall. Independent booksellers, zinesters,
activist groups and other radical enterprises promoting their ideas and merchandise are
encouraged to participate by booking a stall. Stalls are allocated on a first-come basis,
so book in early to save a spot!
- Cost for a stall is $50 if paid before 15th July, or $60 if paid after.
- You can also consider sharing a stall with another group or booking half a stall.
- Kid-friendly stalls are eagerly invited! Please consider having kid-friendly content at
your stall.
- To book, please make a direct deposit into our bank account (details below) and drop us
an email at info@amelbournebookfair.org.

WORKSHOPS:
Workshops are being planned in different time slots and will be held throughout the day in
different rooms. Groups or individuals with discussion content in line with our principles
(see below) are encouraged to participate by proposing a workshop. Workshops are discussed
and agreed on by the collective, and all proposals must be received no later than 15th
July. Workshops are free but often fill up early, so send in your proposal as soon as you
can!
- To propose a workshop, send us an email with your proposal by 15th July. - We will need
a title for your workshop, the name/s of the presenter/s and a short description of the
workshop. Send in with your proposal as soon as possible, but no later than 15th July.
- Please consider whether your workshop will be kid-friendly, kid-inclusive, or accessible
to parents with kids, and which age/s will the content be accessible/understandable for
kids? Please send us this info along with your workshop proposal so parents and kids can
plan their day accordingly.
- You can also consider merging your workshop topic with another related topic, or having
a panel discussion with several different presenters.
- We may have opportunity for multi-media to be used in workshop presentations, such as
audio- visual elements or Skype-calls. If you require this for yours, please contact us!
CHILDCARE:
There will be a kid's space and childcare will be organised. To help us plan for
accommodating kids and parents, please let us know if you will be wanting childcare and
for what age/s. We will need to know by 23rd July in order to plan for it. We also are
trying to include more kid-friendly workshops and stalls! If you are interested in
facilitating a kid-friendly activity at the bookfair, please get in touch. Or if you are
interested in volunteering for childcare, please get in touch. info@amelbournebookfair.org
VOLUNTEERS:
We believe that it takes a collective involvement to create and maintain community spaces
and events, so please help us share the responsibility of making the bookfair happen by
volunteering! We will need help on the day with set-up, door, clean up and childcare, so
we ask that everyone attending consider contributing 1 hour of effort to making this event
happen.
Melbourne Anarchist Bookfair is a not-for-profit collective of volunteers and all money
received will go directly to venue hire, equipment hire, printing and other costs for this
event. We are committed to financial transparency and you can view our past and projected
budget and expenses on our website. The idea for this event came from various Anarchist
Bookfairs around the world. Several different cities in various countries host events that
unite thousands of politically engaged and radical groups, and have been doing so for
almost 30 years! We enjoy being a part of this radical tradition.
