Effort to repeal Ohio same-sex marriage ban won’t make November ballot

OhioCOLUMBUS, Ohio -- A key organizer in the ballot effort to overturn Ohio's same-sex marriage ban says a revised proposal lacks the required signatures to go before voters this fall. FreedomOhio's executive director Ian James also said Thursday the campaign would not have had enough money to run an effective statewide campaign this year.

This past week, that particular entity has been more than a little dim in terms of passing out bright news for gay people. The Texas anti-gay rhetoric has been more absurd, if that is possible, than it has been in other LGBT unfriendly states.

Idaho town faces recount on LGBT non-discrimination ordinance

PocatelloPOCATELLO, Idaho -- A recount has been ordered of last month's vote by Pocatello residents retaining an ordinance banning discrimination against a person because of sexual orientation or gender identity. The recount is set for June 27 and comes at the request of a group opposed to the city ordinance approved by the Pocatello City Council in June 2013 and backed by voters on May 20.
