MichiganDETROIT -- A 16-year-old teen has been charged with assault, two weeks after a young gay man was attacked during a gay pride celebration in Detroit. The boy, whose name has not been released because he is a minor, appeared Saturday appeared Saturday in Wayne County Juvenile Court.

George Takei kicks off LGBT Pride parade in Columbus

Takei, who led the parade through Columbus city streets on Saturday, told The Columbus Dispatch that he wants the United States to be a country where everyone enjoys equality.

Mayor, diplomats join LGBT pride festival in Thessaloniki, Greece

Gay activists take part in only the 3rd ever LGBT pride parade, in Thessaloniki, Saturday, June 21, 2014. The 2-day festival  included a march around the center of this northern Greek city and will culminate in an open-air concert Saturday night.THESSALONIKI, Greece -- Police say more than 6,000 people have marched through the streets of Greece's second largest city, Thessaloniki, in its third gay pride parade. Taking part was Mayor Yiannis Boutaris and the consuls of the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland and Portugal.

Suspect in deadly South Texas attack on two lesbian teens captured

The San Patricio County Sheriff's Office on Saturday said 27-year-old David Malcom Strickland faces transfer to the jail in Sinton.

First transgender priest to preach at National Cathedral

Cameron PartridgeWASHINGTON -- An openly transgender Episcopal priest is set to preach at Washington National Cathedral. The Rev. Dr. Cameron Partridge, the Episcopal chaplain at Boston University, will be a guest preacher on Sunday. He'll be the first openly transgender priest to preach from Canterbury Pulpit at the cathedral.
