Ark. legislators OK statement urging court to uphold same-sex marriage ban

Arkansas state capitol in Little Rock.LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The Arkansas Legislative Council has approved a resolution that urges the state Supreme Court to uphold a voter-approved ban on same-sex marriages. The measure by Republican Sen. Jason Rapert of Conway passed easily on a voice vote, despite strenuous objections from some Democrats.
