The title is intriguing that sounds like a libertarian pamphlet. It can only encourage the
inquisitive mind to go sixty pages Electoral Farce by Alain Krivine and published by Seuil
in 1969. Movement of May to June 68 is still on everyone's mind and gave birth to
Communist League (CL). ---- The young organization is campaigning for the boycott of the
referendum of April 1969, which led to the resignation of De Gaulle and the organization
of early presidential. This referendum, Krivine condemns in his book as a "diversionary
tactic election[...] sending the worker to the booth, leaving him alone in front of the
urn, instead of organizing mass struggles in the factories and in the street " . Hard to
say better ... ---- And yet, surprisingly, it is the "revolutionary application of Alain
Krivine" Presidential June of the same year that wants to promote Electoral Farce ! The
rationale for this choice is made in three stages: the absence of a single candidate of
the left can only save the right; in this case the May movement must speak; you need to
use the platform of the elections for the revolutionary discourse (since a totem for this
current). The problem is that it is for both the LC denounce the "parliamentary cretinism"
... and to vote Krivine!
As the League also account through this "work to build a genuine revolutionary party" . In
1969, 70% of members and adherent LC are educated youth and 20% are teachers. Alain
Krivine, on leave from military service, collected 240,000 votes and 1.06% of the vote ...
twenty times less than the PCF. Participation in the "electoral farce" is ultimately no
more convincing today than yesterday. The merit of this little book is to give us back the
matrix of a Leninist and questionable strategy.
