(en) Germany, FAU-IAA - The labor dispute at the Swedish School of Berlin continues. -- No turning to Midsummer (de)

FAU defended on its members who were dismissed from the Swedish School in Berlin. On June
20, none of the eight dismissals had yet been taken back and no one knows who will teach
the children in the new school year starting in August. ---- Two weeks after the opening
of the conflict, the school management is still not willing to the Free Workers Union to
negotiate (FAU) Berlin - and contrary to other statements to the Swedish news agency TT.
---- Rather, the director of the school, Lena Brolin announced on 16 June that there could
be no recovery settings before not end of that period for the submission of wrongful
dismissal. ---- Therefore, the FAU held on Friday, the traditional Swedish Midsummer
another colorful rally outside the school and church buildings. The rally turned out to be
as cheerful alternative Midsummer Celebration. "We have visitors informed about the
outrageous human resources policy of the school," says Nina Matzek. The secretary of the
FAU Berlin continues: "This also means that the colleagues were asking to waive their
right and not to file a lawsuit - the dismissed apparently supposed to believe their only
humble begging. We do not. "

Receives support FAU not only from parts of anxious parenting, but also by the Swedish
trade union SAC base, protesting on 15 June at the Bishops' Conference in Uppsala against
mass dismissal. The case also came in the Swedish public with great interest. To build
additional pressure, the FAU has taken legal action against the school on June 17. FAU is
ready to withdraw the complaint should the school - as required by the Berlin-based union
- takes back the dismissals.

FAU is located since early June in a labor dispute with the Swedish school in Berlin,
which belongs to the Swedish schools abroad. Reason is the termination of all eight
teachers at the school, among which are also members of the FAU Berlin are located. On
June 6, there was a first rally at a school festival, was played there, which also
includes the popular pop song "Kom strength Lena" ("Come on Lena").
