World : In 77 countries it's a crime to be gay.

Dear,
77 is the most horrifying number no one is talking about.
In 77 countries it's a crime to be gay. You can be thrown in jail or even killed for who you love and who you are by an accident of where you were born. Across the world, there are millions of reasonable, fair-minded people who don't think that's okay – but many fewer know that this is the reality for lesbian, gay, bi and trans people in so many places.
So, we're going to make 77 the number everyone's talking about – from our friends and family to our co-workers and representatives in government.
Because there's so many of us (almost 2 million!) there's an amazingly powerful but simple thing we can do get the word out. It could get the media and other trend-watchers asking "What's 77?" and primed to report on the shocking, tragic answer, raising the alarm.
Here's how it works:
1. Today: Thousands and thousands of us click the image here and hit 'share' on Facebook:

2. Today: We all forward this email to our friends and let them in on the secret. Around the world, the number 77 is going to flood the newsfeeds of everyone we all know with no explanation. If enough of us do it at the same time, all of a sudden, what would be a routine Friday newscycle will turn into a giant mystery everyone will want to solve.
3. Saturday: You'll receive a new '77' image to share and again, thousands and thousands of us will flood our social networks with the new image. This one will have the incredible answer we're going to make sure the whole world to knows: In 77 countries it's a crime to be gay. We're going All Out to get it to ZERO.
This simple strategy could mean that instead of a handful of specialised reporters talking about the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia on Saturday, we could make the fact that 77 countries throw people in jail for who they love the one of the top mainstream stories in the world this weekend.
Can you help build the buzz by sharing the '77' graphic now? Click here.
All Out members have been driving the biggest and most powerful online conversations on LGBT rights since this movement launched. Together, we recently helped make Russia's anti-gay law the #1 story of the Olympics in Sochi by doing everything from sharing campaigns and videos on our social networks to showing up in more than 36 cities around the world for Global Speak Outs.
Talk to you again tomorrow when we send out the next image!
Andre, Gaƫlle, Guillaume, Jeremy, Leandro, Mike, Ricardo, Sara, Tile and the rest of the All Out team.

P.S. All Out's teaming up with The Guardian to show the world's record on the rights of lesbian, gay, bi and trans people – by the numbers. An interactive tool with some shocking numbers will be launching just in time for Saturday. So, getting the word out now means there will be an extra-powerful resource to back-up our message right on time. Can you share the image to build the buzz?
P.P.S. You can also share the 77 on TwitterTumblr, or download the image here and spread the word wherever you are!
