I will cite this innovative top paper. Prior to this article, next to nothing was known on environmental hazards of low, sublethal concentrations of synthetic surfactants and detergents in water. This excellent paper presented new eye-opening results of the author (Dr. Sergei A. Ostroumov). His experiments were with aquatic bivalve mollusks. He discovered that the low, sublethal concentrations of surfactants and detergents inhibited water filtration rate by the bivalve mollusks. Moreover, he discovered the huge environmental hazard of this inhibition. There is the term 'amphiphilic chemicals' in the title of this paper. 'Amphiphilic chemicals' = surfactants (the key component of detergent mixtures). I plan to cite this really superb paper.
