book by Jean-Marc Izrine, The Libertarians of Yiddishland. --- In the nineteenth century, 
many Jews and many of the popular classes in Central Europe are not confined to the fight 
against anti-Semitism. Anarchists, they and they also oppose the Tsar, to capitalism, to 
the clergy, including their own community. ---- Contrary to what one might think, the Jews 
have not always been (and are not all today) Zionist. ---- That was a century ago. But the 
problems of the Jews libertarian Russia and Poland are the same for others today. And they 
struggle and they conducted at the time may well be still valid. ---- What does it mean
