Ciudad de Santiago de los Caballeros de Goathemalan (City of Saint James of the Knights of Guatemala). Naturally, St. James became the patron saint of the city.

Last Sunday, March 2, 2014, St. Alban/Antigua English outreach mission of the St. James English parish of Santiago Cathedral, Guatemala City, celebrated it's first anniversary.  Associate Minister, Fr. Ricardo Frohmader and formation assistant and local historian/Antigua Tours founder, Elizabeth Bell served at the altar.  The temporary ¨chapel¨ of St. Alban Mission was generously offered to the outreach mission by Jade expert and
archaeologist Mary Lou Ridinger.


Saint Alban Mission has been a successful outreach program from the start.  Located in the very/very historic convent of Casa Covento Concepcion http://eventosantiguaguatemala.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=77&Itemid=271&lang=en there has always been a welcoming spirit here which is supported by local residents and travelers who visit us weekly.  

Antigua, Guatemala is a World Heritage Site and the Mission of St. Alban provides a charming and historic setting for visitors and year-round Episcopalians/Anglicans from  the worldwide Anglican Communion to worship in English from the Book of Common Prayer.  At St. Alban, mi casa es su casa is expressed with the fullest meaning of Christian hospitality.  ALL are welcome at St. Alban.
