There are three years old, March 11, 2011, took place at Fukushima in Japan one of the
worst nuclear disasters in history (the other being the Chernobyl disaster, which occurred
April 26, 1986). Three reactors at the plant, at least one filled with MOX fuel [1],
partially melted and suffered explosions that have deteriorated sharply. If today the
government and the nuclear industry want us to believe that everything is more or less
"finished", aided by a complacent silence of the media, it is clear that the scale of the
disaster has not be finished. And in Japan as elsewhere, the damage continues ... ----
Local people sometimes left behind in very precarious conditions, and other times to be
evacuated relocated around in simple huts, continue to live in contact with a high ambient
radioactivity. Actions decontamination ridiculous add rather illusory radiation protection
measures. And anyway, it might mean the fact of "decontaminate" if everything is imbued
with radioactivity? The abundance and dispersion of radionuclides are such that the
radiation can not be "removed" as they wipe away a stain on a garment. In addition,
radiation protection measures in place appear to be much more of a desire for social
control of a hypothetical preservation of human health.
Many prohibitions and restrictions are designed to prevent people, especially children, to
go to the places considered most radioactive. For example, you must: walk on the concrete
path and not in the grass that is next, do not go outside, go play in the playground as
"decontaminated" put bottles of water at the edges of windows (obviously to stop gamma
rays). Sometimes seeming like common sense, these measures are mainly used to give the
illusion that certain rules we live healthy. But even if it is better to expose themselves
to a daily radiation dose as low as possible, one wonders, given the current situation
what difference will it make in the end. Thus, to the extent that environmental
contamination is high, breathe the air inside or the outside will probably change much more.
And what about water bottles put in the windows, or around playgrounds? While water
effectively stops gamma rays, and this is why a shutdown reactor is "embedded" within ten
meters of water for maintenance, but what may be the real utility of a full bottle water
barely ten centimeters in diameter?
And it is the same radioactivity measurements made on foods by various associations. Want
to eat without poisoning is natural, but in this case it is not really about that. As the
food of the region is any more or less contaminated, it will always end up eating poison
"local". In fact, the measures have the ultimate objective is to determine whether the
doses of radioactivity are or are not in the official standards. However, these standards
set by states or global associations nuclear, have never been made to ensure no adverse
effects on living things (cancer, birth, etc.). [2]
It will be recalled in passing that the qualifying standards for the inhabitants of the
province of Fukushima radioactivity were greatly increased since the disaster (multiplied
by twenty!), So that the majority of people can stay put. This shows that these standards
have real purpose for the social acceptability of nuclear power. Experiencing "normal" (ie
when there is no accident), the standards are a response to the concerns and rejection
faced by the nuclear industry in defining what is "dangerous" this which is "safe".
Limiting more or less radioactive pollution, the government wants to show that they care
about the health of populations, while obviously ensuring the proper operation of nuclear
facilities.
But Fukushima mask fell, and it became clear that the standard allows, by legalizing,
which already exists rather than trying to preserve the health of humans.
It is also well perceived limits that carries a opposition to nuclear power which is
confined to radioactivity measurements: we know if we are going to be spent, and how - and
often state or minimizes the cache - but it did provides that information, and no way to
effective action. Anyway, the "eligible" or not dose is set by the institutions, and will
discuss this point requires a level of expertise that rules out a large portion of the
population. Note also, with some irony, that the assistance provided by the Japanese
associations CRIIRAD measuring contamination was largely funded by the Rh?ne-Alpes region,
the region most nuclearized Europe!
The generosity of subsidies in this region is directly linked to the nuclear industry
which contributes significantly to its economic wealth ... Finally, the cynical nature of
the management of this disaster is well illustrated by these children are doing live with
a dosimeter hanging neck permanently (except for sleeping). This dosimeter recess provides
no protection - it would be incapable! - But offers false guarantees by theoretical
knowledge of global irradiation received by the holder thereof, to preserve his health.
All this reminds us of another ignominy: programs implemented in Ukraine and Belarus by
nucleocrats worldwide, and CEA in mind, in order to "help" the survival of the population
living in the territory contaminated after the Chernobyl disaster. Actually help, it was
mainly to study life in these territories and test methods of social management to
"accept" the people an accidental situation. And this, both in the context of managing the
Chernobyl disaster, but also where another central explode somewhere in the world. By
showing that you can "live" in the contaminated area, the nuclear experts relativize (or
outright deny) the horror of radioactive pollution. Which already allows reassure people
living around nuclear facilities. They also prepare the exposed populations in the future
a nuclear accident, to believe that it can be overcome if we want to rely on the experts
who know the solutions to adopt.
But radioactivity plays these ridiculous scoops, and already the effects of the disaster
are felt. Recent years thyroid diseases are no longer listed in the Fukushima region
(obviously kids who want to be treated must go to other regions).
The birth statistics also ignore this region, and for good reason: the number of reported
"stillborn" children is rising sharply, and curious phenomenon, we do not allow mothers to
see their deceased child by exempting their eyes at the end of delivery. Unlike the
intense hype that followed the accident, it seems that there will be little or no pictures
of the horrors generated by the nuclear disaster, but the reality is not less dramatic ...
We do not think that lobbying institutions where the media-citizen activism have a
decisive influence on the nuclear issue. In France, it is the State which is nuclear. He
draws his military political power (the atomic bomb) and economic: the nuclear industry
and it allows the electric abundance are essential to French capitalism today. Only a
radical questioning of the foundations of capitalist society will end the nuclear!
Immediate shutdown of the nuclear, civil and military!

[1] MOX: mixture of oxides, that is uranium and plutonium. There is always the plutonium
in a reactor running, but when you add in the beginning, there is much more in the reactor
explodes and if the contamination is much worse.
[2] In any case it would be necessary to be absolutely sure to have no effect, there is no
radioactive pollution!
