(en) France, Coordination of Anarchist Groups - The struggle against patriarchy continues! (fr, pt)

Text read by the CGA63 at the rally of March 8. ---- Today we are witnessing a significant
decline in women's rights. A major step in the patriarchal and reactionary offensive is
crossed in a European country, Spain, with the prohibition of abortion. In reality what we
are witnessing is a gradual attack against the whole of the conquests of the emancipation
of the oppressed, the feminist movements. ---- In this offensive against the freedom of
women, the State relies on religious institutions, which then play a role as a political
catalyst. The Spanish Catholic Church has played a leading role in the anti-abortion
campaign that led to the law Rajoy. Other religious institutions are no exception.
Everywhere, in fact religious ideologies support the patriarchal order presented as a
"divine will."

Today the attacks against women's rights are part of a widespread desire to patriarchal
offensive in Europe, supported by all reactionaries. Forces This is a fundamental issue
for all women in Europe to a halt this offensive. We must make every effort to develop
international solidarity and support all feminist struggles that can grow here or there.
For it is the fight and only fight after fight, that patriarchy will one day definitely
fall into the dustbin of history. can not develop patriarchy through reforms,
institutional or otherwise. The destruction of patriarchy will only come from the revolt
of those it oppresses. speech we used the powers that be and the media about the status of
women is to hide the very real inequalities persisting gender, but also between classes.
The "debate" on parity has shown that focusing solely on gender relations and focus solely
symbols allowed nothing to resolve the underlying problem of male domination.
The status of women will really change as part of an overall change in society. We support
the claim of equal pay between the sexes rather than looking for a gender in hierarchical
structures within employers or politicians, we focus on social mobilization in the street
to get freedom of choice: open and free for everyone contraception and abortion free and
open to all. Indeed, put the signatures of a petition to hyper-masculinized authorities is
a form of struggle that seems much less relevant to us. We defend the need for feminist
struggle is both anti-patriarchal and anti-capitalist. Patriarchy and capitalism feeds the
other, they are both feet on which stands our oppression and we can not hope to abolish
one without abolishing the other. We reaffirm our solidarity with all those and all those
who protest against all reactionary offensive and our desire to change society to end all
forms of domination and privilege for a libertarian and egalitarian society.
