Minors are left-isolated, single-es and their country to arrive in France without family
or resource. Today, in France, departments and state return the responsibility for their
care, explicitly regarded as a financial burden that nobody wants to take. But these young
people are mobilizing. ---- Few people know the fate that is reserved for minors isolated
es foreigners (PII) by the departments legally obligated to protect those few thousands of
children at risk. A national protocol was signed in May 2013, supposed divide young
newcomers in different departments: it would take over all minors while respecting the
unequal Home general advice capabilities. It is, however, discriminatory laws, since
foreign minors are explicitly addressed the French minors (which themselves are supported
in the department where they are not tossed at the option availability) differently.
Above all, the abuse in the application of this regulation are numerous: there are several
hundreds of miners who are left on the street, summer and winter, with dubious arguments
(they are not really minor, not really isolated, not really In danger ... wonder why they
migrated only at the peril of their lives.) And even when they are supported, it is a
support at least, without access to training, or even sometimes to social protection or
care ... All this is a fine example of xenophobia policies (from left or right). This
demonstrates the political manager of social action: talking numbers, flow, loads ... and
not quality of support.
Collective support is organized to deal with this situation. The first to Paris, born in
2012 at the initiative of fifteen associations, created a permanent home, to better
understand and denounce the abuse that engage the services of social assistance to the
Children (ASE) of Paris. He inspired a second class in the Hauts-de-Seine, and before the
news on the entire territory, others grow in many departments.
Come on kids!
Especially, young people take action! After participating in a rally organized by the
first collective MIE in June 2013 before the ASE Paris, major and minor youth are
organized es in recent weeks to protest against what social services do to them, starting
with making the street late December several of their comrades DMA Stendhal. With the
support of the group, they resist the pressures of social services and demand respect for
their rights. They were tens December 23 to demand to meet the Director of ESA in charge
of MIE, to express their incomprehension and concern for their future. Immediate response:
ESA calls the police to repress with a lot of tear gas, triggered internally threats and
psychological pressure, and installs security guards at the entrance of the premises.
Social services have shown their inability to fulfill their mission and their submission
to the xenophobic policy departments. As we now support any struggle by the youth for
their rights and equal treatment.
