(en) Brazil, Anarchist Collective Black Flag (CAB) - Note repudiation of police action in Blumenau / SC (pt)

The months of March and April 2014 are already marked in the history of Brazil as a moment
of reflection on the past 50 years that have elapsed since when we suffer with established
civil-military coup in the country. The strengthening of the political culture of
authoritarianism supported by capitalism, represented by the coup of April 1, 1964, still
produces its effects on organized popular struggle and we see his cruel residence until
the present day, against those who fight for a world of justice , freedom, equality and
self-management. ---- In Santa Catarina, one of the most reactionary states of Brazil, is
no different. A shameful example was the strong police repression unleashed by the
military police to popular protest against the exploitation of public transport by GO
consortium, with connivance of the City of Blumenau, under Napoleon's administration
Bernardes (PSDB). The demonstration was called by the newly formed Collective Zero Fare,
with the aim of questioning the current operation of public transportation, as well as the
abusive price of U.S. $ 3.00.

On March 13, 2014, the demonstration came to Urban Terminal Fort, with about 150 workers
and workers, unemployed people and students, who chanted slogans against the model of
transport, carrying banners and placards denouncing the relationship of ruling political
class and the local business community.

The Military Police, to curb this act, spared no effort to defend the rich and the
politicians. Expressive repressive force used to intimidate legitimate popular
manifestation. Used dogs to attack teenagers as well as rubber bullets at close range.
Approximately 20 people were taken to a hospital to be attended and five people were
arrested. At the police station, the officer on duty ignored their complaints, in
accordance with the dominant interests.

The Black Flag Anarchist Collective, member of the Brazilian Anarchist Coordination
repudiates the arbitrariness of police actions - denouncing another criminalization by the
government - and pays full solidarity and support for the struggle organized by the
Collective Zero rate. After all, as an anarchist political organization, we can not accept
that popular protests are treated as a crime. Provide solidarity and stand shoulder to
shoulder with each victim of the state and capital. Follow along with the comrades in
struggle towns and a life without turnstiles!
Protest is not a crime!
Fighting, create, popular power!
