Brazil, FARJ - Solidarity with striking garbage men!

The sweepers of Rio de Janeiro stopped their activities, going over the bureaucratic union
leadership which continues to insist that the street sweepers are not on strike. In march
toward city hall were repressed by the military police but keep fighting! Today finally
the bourgeois media and City Hall had to acknowledge the force of these workers that the
strike YES, IS happening! ---- The struggle of / sweepers is the fair and received the
solidarity of workers of different political sectors! Protest can not and will never be a
crime, but always a right! Cerquemos solidarity waste collectors and always respecting
your role! There follows an account of a compa who participated in our solidarity, meeting
yesterday. ---- Solidarity with all sweepers! Protesting is not a crime! ---- Today, I was
in the Assembly Garis and manifestation that was then. Very surprised me 'dissatisfaction
with their union workers (not just with the direction).

The repressive apparatus was worthy of the great events of June and October. However,
popular support was such that it seemed to be immune to attempts to criminalize the
corporate media.

The session was attended by about 100 strikers, where the most exalted points were:
increasing the minimum wage to R $ 1,200 fee + health, the daycare for both sexes and the
end of reprisals to the fighters. Workers pointed out that these achievements would be
possible only if the category were united, that "alone, esculacham us, but together we are
strong!" and if the fight were the base, since "The union is Mercenary "," The union is a
disgrace. "

When the oppressed build the fight, the People's Power, the state is terrified and
therefore, spreads terror. Today, the number five policemen for every demonstrator showed:
tasers, cassettes, pepper sprays and all government investment to address social ills.
Thus demonstrating that the bourgeois democracy we live in, the demands of the proletariat
are mere matters of police.

Finally, the justness of the cause of street sweepers seem to be able to break the
consensus that has been imposed: that protest is a crime and, as such, should be harshly
repressed. To that extent, the strengthening of this struggle can be an antidote to the
poison that has caused media reflux of movement in Rio de Janeiro.

Hugs, Militant FARJ and Popular Organization.
