The first publication to suggest new terminology: ecological chemomediators, and ecological chemoregulators. The original, Russian edition of this book (Ostroumov S.A. Vvedenie v Biokhimicheskuyu Ekologiyu, Moscow University Press, 1986) was translated into two languages: Polish and Bulgarian. The book became a basis for teaching this new science, biochemical ecology, in many universities in Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Slovakia, and some other countries.
