"For us the greatest importance lies not in what it can therefore accomplish whatever they
want to imply that all accepted and practiced anarchy, which will not be done in a day or
through a simple insurrectionary act. 's Important is the method with which it achieves
little or a lot."
Malatesta
"The traditional left has been sectarian, dogmatic and often has ignored the reality
around you. I do not believe that anarchists in general have been much better. It's time
to lead by example. We aim to build spaces for discussion and change harmful habits in our
movement, which do not contribute to the debate and more numb the development of critical
thinking necessary that the revolutionary movement both need to face the difficult task of
social regeneration we have ahead."
Jos? Antonio Guti?rrez Danton
Malatesta for each order requires their means, and fight for a different domination and
capitalist exploitation system order the means of achieving it must also be different. In
this sense, we understand how ethics and militant style values ??that guide our everyday
political practice, in constant dialogue with reality and consistent with our method and
our design work. The germ of a more just and equal society free of exploitation and
domination is the way we operate in the "now", and this can not be left for later. Is in
how we organize, through federalism, self-management and direct action. It is the
intention that we give to our practices and relations in social and political means, with
the popular sectors, with others ( as) and fellow activists (as) and the relationship
between political organizations. Which is to say that the militant style is to seek
consistency between the practices of ( a) militant, and the set of militancy, the
principles, methods and the policy of an organization.
In addition to defining a strategic program with concrete proposals for intervention in
reality, an anarchist organization should pursue a consistent policy practice with a
particular militant style, which serve as fundamental to the construction of popular power
and social transformation element. The practice is also a propaganda tool and contributes
to the organization to form a favorable opinion, since it is the experience of struggle
and the interaction of (the) militants who builds complicity in groundwork and new (as)
companions (as) and supporters (as) will approach.
It is important pontuarmos not envision a perfect, much less a kind of infallible human
being militant. The various problems and contradictions will be present in the dynamics of
fights or in revolutionary processes, and is organizing ourselves to overcome them, or
reduce them to the maximum, we move forward. There are countless examples, contemporary or
historical, where the anarchist proposal contributed to the organization and struggles by
the demands of workers. For our ideological conviction is made good, our theory is to act
in reality and our program is the result of everyday struggles.
Making mistakes and work to correct errors nourishes our learning and generates political
accumulation and ripening. It is also critical to know the fraternal critique of (the)
companion (a) when it is necessary, terms and humility to take when we make mistakes, make
a self-criticism and strive to change our ways. Nothing to do "overlook" or "move your
hand on the head" when it identifies a problem related to the practice of some (a)
(extended). When (the) militant organization and omit to face these problems, and not
guided in the appropriate collective instances, one can generate a "pressure cooker" that
could undermine the organic relationship, undermine the basic work and generate
misunderstandings that otherwise, could be avoided.
Thus, the exercise of criticism and debate must be seen as important organizational tools,
put into the service of the practice and the latter also as a starting point, whether in
political or social levels. No criticism as mere intellectual exercise, debate by debate
or for the sole purpose of changing the consciousness of each individual. For it is not
simply a change in people's consciousness altering reality, but it is the construction of
a particular subject of social transformation in the daily processes of struggle against
the system of domination and exploitation. These (blacks, peasants, slum dwellers,
students, young people, indigenous people, women etc..) Subjects will incorporate the
organization, bringing their experiences and struggles.
We know that the process to identify and change practices that are formatted ( ) the
system of oppression and domination is not something that occurs in overnight. But we must
be careful not to act in a selfish and conceited way reproduce or prejudiced, sexist,
sexist, homophobic attitudes or other forms of oppression and authoritarianism with ( the
) companions ( as). And when this happens the collective should help ( a) partner ( a) to
recognize and change their behavior, but considering its reality and its limitations, not
wanting to crucify him (a), to caricature it (a) or requiring it (a) A "purity "
impossible in real life.
It is also important to know what the motivating (a) militant has positive, recognizing
the different potential, temperaments and singularities. Stimulate it ( a) the exercise of
the delegation, initiative, participation and positioning in collective bodies. To listen
and learn to debate, despite the differing positions, always making effort to reach
collective agreements without "workhorse ". Prioritize the collective construction instead
of detached proactive practices of the strategy, which is different from the initiative
capacity of each to help you do what we can. As well as the organicity prezarmos instead
of relationships and informal political structures, personalistic or paternalistic nature,
which may give rise to inequalities and political manipulations within the collective.
Avoid personalism is to strengthen the collective structures and have clear criteria for
all operations (as).
The different levels of action, the (a) militants must understand that their political
practice, besides being the "face" of your organization, is also a reference to the other,
positively or negatively. Therefore it is important to cultivate a spirit of brotherhood
and mutual support in workspaces, encouraging and promoting confidence and safety, ethics
and camaraderie among (the) companions ( as). And, especially in social work, not being
arrogant thinking that will lead to "truth " to the people, but knowing first heard it and
learn from the wisdom, reality and popular culture.
Hopefully the (a) militant attentive to all of your organization's attitude beyond their
specific job, contributing and seeking solutions to organize and coordinate the work in
different spaces in which they operate, helping to build a policy where the fields
fighting in which the organization operates increasingly hold discussions. Who balances
your participation and contributing to undertake both tasks inner workings of the
organization and with external tasks relating to the grassroots. Acting responsibly and
communicate the collective when unable to fulfill a certain task. And therefore have
unforeseen problems is normal, but the lack of communication affect the organic. On the
other hand, being overloaded with tasks does not mean that the policy is advancing, but
perhaps we are not acting with planning or setting priorities.
Training is another important element, especially when you think about a policy
coordinated with other internal activities of the organization concerned and to the host
of (a) militant and new arrivals with the groundwork. Complemented with a theoretical
training that will strengthen and upgrade the practice of (a) militant, endowing it with (
a) the necessary tools to produce and reproduce the proposals of the organization. Also,
all (a) that (a) you just entered should understand that the process does not restart from
zero at that moment, and that (s) he will contribute in the best possible way to multiply
force in a process that is already walking with others ( the ) companions (as) and that
has its accumulations. All militants build the organization but must learn to respect the
collective deliberations and act from them.
At the social level acting on the basis teaches us many things, whether in rural social
movements, city, workplace, study or resistance initiatives in slums and peripheries. We
contribute to the collective spaces that are pleasing helped build and encourage the
participation of all. Once domination and capitalist exploitation work to remove the
people from political participation, putting the electoral process and individualism as
benchmarks in our work and the exercise of political militancy should not look at people
as something boring or something only to "professional " far from their reality. A meeting
or assembly of base emptied indicates we may be doing something wrong. A particular style
applied to the militant grassroots work can also stimulate pedagogically, it provides
conditions for greater participation in spaces of deliberation, considering the realities
and limitations of each. For example, even with a modest experiment in communal field, we
can give testimony that a work strategically focused and based on a relationship of
equality, respect and encouraging political participation led to the approach of people at
different levels of participation, from the most punctual even the most organic. Are
gradually being established important relationships with our proposals identity, knowing
the value of resistance and popular initiatives politically articulate work.
At the same time, at the political level we must also cherish by a militant style and
ethics in relations with other political organizations and currents from the left. The
acting in wider spaces and ideological diversity as forums, campaigns and demonstrations
put on other challenges. Our proposals are not the only and let's not even want to be
alone in the process of struggle. To deal with the powerful oppressors and often we will
be composing with other sectors of the left building consensus from that common agreement,
which does not mean abandoning our principles. It would be too easy politically compose
only with whom we agree or ideological affinity, but that would adopt principismo as an
action policy, the fight does not advance nor enriches our experiences.
It is common to go through disagreements, political differences or unethical conduct by
individuals or groups, but beyond denunciation, our focus should be to disseminate and
advance our proposals. We need to differentiate the class enemies of ideological
opponents. Without it we run the risk of acting as a "steamroller " in political spaces,
reducing them to the areas of dispute or "capture " of militants only.
We should know the differences forward calmly and avoid unnecessary conflicts and
controversies, differentiating those differences in principles of strategy or tactic and
recognizing the merits of others. Before being critical, be self-critical. We stand firmly
on anarchism attacks and slander, and do the ideological struggle when necessary, but
putting our positions and opinions without dogmatism and contextualizing our criticism
rather than generalize them to a whole chain, group or ideology. There are discussions
that should be made and the differences often go there, but that may be without
sectarianism and dogmatism.
Publicly, we must know the position without febrile virulence, which makes it appear that
we are more concerned in stating our positions or compete with another school or
organization than for us to take the everyday problems of (the) oppressed (as) and
exploited (as). Not convinced or persuaded simply violence in language or speaking loudly.
Theoretical and ideological vanity are two sides of the same coin. And especially today we
should be more careful with the virtual communication tools and social networks, which by
its operating characteristic end up facilitating and encouraging this type of harmful
practice.
Thus, ethics and style militants are not understood by us as dogma, but as conceptions of
work to be embodied in our political practices and, thus, organizations seeking to operate
the Brazilian Anarchist Coordination (CAB). And our fight militancy in the field and
community sectors work in collective production, student unions, pre vestibular, education
and popular culture, as in the demonstrations and popular forums of articulation, we seek
to stimulate and influence, but we are also modified in the daily struggles. And is
inserted in these social dynamics that an ethical foundation and a design style militants
also forge and qualify as fruits of political maturity and reflection in daily struggles.
