Volume 19 of the series includes the proceedings of the scientific session ‘Ecosystems, Organisms, Innovations’ that took place under the aegis of a section of the MOIP (Moscow Society of Nature Researchers),  and some other scientific and educational materials. The session was dedicated to the 10thanniversary of a series of publications in the journal ‘Doklady Akademii Nauk’  (2000, 372: 286-289;  2001, 378: 248-250; 2002, 382: 18-21; 2003, 390: 252-255; and others) (the Russian versions of the papers were published in ‘Doklady Akademii Nauk). The materials cover freshwater and marine ecosystems and organisms. The authors represent various departments of Moscow State University and other institutions and universities of Russia, and other countries. The proceedings are of interest to scientists in the fields of ecology, limnology, oceanography, zoology, ichthyology, botany, microbiology, environmental science (including biogeochemistry and geochemistry), as well as to university professors and educators. The names of the new awardees of the honorary title Aquatic Ecologist of Year (V.A. Abakumov, G.M. Barenboim, G.E. Shulman), and Ecologist of Year (V.V. Ermakov, N.G. Solomonov) are published.
