Lemon Poppy-seed Bread

Lemeee tell you about this lemon poppy-seed bread. If I was to construct a 'last meal' for myself a slice of this heavenly delight would be part of that meal.

I don't have the recipe, so my apologies for that,  as I have asked for it and was promptly denied. I pick up a couple of loaves every time I go by the General Store in Pakenham, Ont. It is THE BEST LEMON POPPY-SEED BREAD ON THE PLANET. They are real stingy with their recipes there and it's one of those "If I told you I'd have to kill you" kind of things. But, I still buy it and will someday try to make it myself. (and will probably fail miserably) but I'm no quitter.
I often have coffee in a tea-cup and this cake goes so well with it.
If anyone out there has a delicious recipe for this kind of loaf cake,  please share.

Isn't it pretty with my blue and white china?
The magazine GRIT is one that the retired guy subscribes to. It is full of wonderful articles on raising your own food and hobby-farming. This month has interesting articles on bees and raising your own chickens. Lots of info on growing herbs, too. It is a good magazine to have just for all the valuable information on our food and the health of our planet. I checked...no recipe for lemon poppy-seed loaf. ;-b

Lily was getting a bath from Annie this morning.

They are developing a very close relationship now that Ed has passed on. Thank God for Annie. Lily needs that comfort at this time and I knew I could count on my 'little Peach'.
