We polled our readers and Facebook followers to see how they felt about including the children at Ciudando Los Ninos Family Shelter in the gift. The WDA read that many of the kids do not have winter coats and that lots of the babies/toddlers do not have socks or shoes. The response was unanimous...the blankets will be divided between Fat Katz Rescue, Animal Crackers Senior Dog Hospice, and Ciudando Los Ninos...and yes, yummy noshes will be sent as well.
This morning the WDA gathered around and we placed the order for a case and a half of new fleece blankets which will arrive the first week of the New Year. We will get them out as soon as they hit the doorstep; White Dog will insist on that.
Now the pack is like a flock of torpid robins...happy, contented, and totally spent from the day of feasting and celebrating. The swoon was not so complete that duck jerky time was missed but even our buzzing bee, Bella, is flitting at a slower pace. The supervisory pool for finishing gift wrapping is empty so Steve and I are on our own to pull all of the last minute details together...but even left to our own devices you can be assured that the results will be reviewed under the tree or tomorrow before we head out to deliver surprises.
"Oh my dog," Yo noted as he rolled to his other side during his post jerky pre-dinner nap, "the celebration starts again tomorrow! It is Christmas Eve! And the next day is Christmas!! I may have to loosen my collar a notch or two just to make room for turducken."
