THEY DID IT

The "Hastert rule" was a formula for paralysis: if John Boehner only let bills come up for a vote that a majority of his caucus supported, that created in effect a filibuster to block bills even when a majority of the House overall would support them. But now, it is even more insane. The Senate bill to fund the government would have passed the House WITH support from a majority of Republicans.
