Peering through a window pane
in the dead of night,
All that is visible are two giant green eyes.
On Halloween anything can happen;
But where did these eyes come from?
Who or what do they belong to?
There's a flash of orange,
but what does that mean?
Is it a sign of fire?
Oh Lord, what is going on?!
Peering through a window pane,

Now a broom comes flying by.
The giant green eyes hop on;
They appear to belong to a cat.
Truly how can one tell for sure?
There is no visible fur.
All that could have been was
that flash of green blending into the sky.
As Halloween ends and a new month arises;
One can only hope those scary green eyes were just a dream.
