After The Last Convicts[1], two-forgotten story of the twentieth century the lives broken
by prison, editions Albache young independent publishing house[2], give us this time read
the story and actresses Contemporary actors self. Again, the emphasis is on the experience
and experience to come to question the logic of power and relations of domination while
avoiding the pitfalls of political dogmatism. ---- This collective work and takes the
party to consider the self as a possible alternative, without asking the obvious. They are
carpenters, steelworkers, teachers and students, or bakers, each reveals its course. These
are four transcribed interviews in their spontaneity. They tell how, at one point, they
wanted to do otherwise, with all the difficulties inherent in projecting utopia as
possible and capitalist society as fallible.
The self is here now ideal to conquer, sometimes a solution to a crisis. It is still off
the beaten track, to create and to successfully deal with both the constraints of the
state and those of the self in a capitalist system. And the idea is to go further by
questioning the course of domination, gender, social hierarchies ... Because there is no
practical guide, and this little book should not be read as such. Instead, the self must
be seen as a process, a project to evolve. And if it is oil stain, so much the better!
Each experience offers us a vision of a local presence in an area, a region ... and
reminds us that the economy is political. The interviews are preceded by a foreword
committed, which clearly sets out the practical issues of self-management experiences
today, without continuing to affirm principles.
The self-management practices is an invitation to look around us to tap into the
collective spaces to inspire us. To read so as " a small box hopes, tools and ammunition
. " To read without moderation!
