The recent series of publications on aquatic ecosystems and cooperative function of aquatic organisms leads to a new view, new understanding, and a new emphasis.
According to the new understanding, the main ecosystem function - in aquatic ecosystems - involves also, in addition to other functions - water self-purification which is linked to multi-aspect destruction of organic matter in the ecosystem.
