It is urgent to build and coordinate protests against the extreme right in France and
Europe. After the presentation of the VISA network last month, here is an update on the
establishment of a coordination collecting various antifascist initiatives. ---- Other
items folder: * A national coordination against the far right to fight * In Lyon, the
fascists take their ease * They do not indiscriminate * The mobilization for
antimariageall to all and the enchanted by the extreme right ---- On February 16, at the
initiative of Vigilance and Anti-Fascist trade initiatives (VISA) and after several months
of discussions, fifteen associations and collective regional or local antifascists are
formed into a National Coalition against the extreme right ( Conex), with a joint
statement: "Given the extreme right and its ideology-offensive against the unit is an
emergency! "

Call Unit

The appeal, which points to the danger of the extreme right, but also the responsibilities
of the right and the left in power, is explicit: "(...) the mobilization against the
anti-social policies are necessary, but we must also create the conditions for a broad
anti-fascist front unit which is an effective shield against the resurgence of all forms
of fascism! (...) We call on all collectives, networks, associations and unions who share
this concern and have at heart to participate in the battle to join. We also encourage the
creation of anti-fascist unit structures in all regions. Our unity in action on common
goals is a vital necessity for the decisive battle! ". This appeal therefore emphasizes
the need for a broad anti-fascist front in a dynamic unit, as was the case in the 1990s,
including the creation of collective Ras l'Front and antifascist mobilizations that
culminated in the anti-fascist demonstration Strasbourg in 1997 against the FN congress
was attended by 60 000 people.

A large gathering

Already, the bringing together in a single coordination groups of different sensitivities
is an encouraging and since other groups have joined the Conex not. The first 14
signatories are: collective RL'F Rouen, Grenoble, Voiron Gresivaudan, Justice & Freedom of
Strasbourg, Collective vigilance Lyon/69 the collectives antifascist struggle of Rennes
and Reims, the antifascist collectives of Avignon and Paris-Banlieue, the collective
Saint-Denis/93 against the FN and the extreme right, the Horde, VISA, Memorial 98.

Specifically, the Conex completed an initial leaflet distributed during trade union
demonstrations on 1 May and calling for action to the world of work, against the extreme
right [ 1 ]. And other initiatives are planned to structure and enhance coordination.

Moreover, in the current crisis facing the rise of the extreme right in Europe must also
mention the European fascist manifesto. A first meeting was held in Athens, where rampant
neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party, under the Altersummit of June 7 to 9
