Who benefits from the increased bus fare? Certainly they are the owners of companies, and
provide a poor public transport were totally exempt from taxes (PIS / COFINS and PASEP) by
the federal government. Ie, the bus companies receive government privileges and may
increase rates to profit more ... But workers, unemployed and students have to suffer
daily in poor condition of public transport in Rio de Janeiro and moreover have to pay
more! ---- Occupying the Tiradentes Palace. ---- enBuses, ferries, trains, subway ... are
daily violated by a lousy public transportation system. We waited in endless queues,
travel hours in crowded transport and maintenance free, risking their lives. Suffer with
the the violence of greed, neglect of robbery, mafias of public transport companies, aided
by governments to profit from increasing.
In the metropolitan area and interior, missing buses to serve the residents of certain
remote regions, waiting hours and often take two or three different transports. Trains
often break between seasons, tight, hot and unsafe, the people is humiliated and beaten
everyday.
But when people go to the streets to complain against this injustice that happens? It
violated! Riot police, tear gas, pepper spray, bombs, rubber bullets at close range that
can blind or even kill. A whole apparatus of war is used against the people, and dozens of
protesters were arrested and injured by the police. Can not we go to the streets to
manifest our indignation and fight for justice? Will we return to military dictatorship?
Faced with the problem of social Rio, the response of the government comes through a
sinister policy of terror on the poor. Daily we are abused by governments and businesses.
Street vendors want to work but suffer the violence of the shock of order. In Maracana
Village, Indians are fighting for their rights and territories, but are violated by the
city and business owners Cup. Hundreds of residents of communities are evicted from their
homes, without dialogue and without receiving fair compensation, suffering the violence of
speculation. Contractors and business owners will profit from works of urbanism and the
BRT. Sick people suffer the violence of neglect in rows of hospitals, and students in
public schools with poor conditions and without state funds. Many drivers accumulate
functions collector, and both suffer from the pressure targets and timetables that
employers require, forcing them to accept no more than 40 per day gratuities.
Both police brutality and indifference of the public to the social, and the disrespect
that entrepreneurs of public transportation make us pass every day, these are all forms of
violence against the people. And all the ways that people use to defend against this
violence are legitimate. 's people, organized in social movements, manifested by justice
can not be criminalized, beaten or arrested.
We must be careful with the strategy of the dominant powers to criminalize "individually"
militants and activists fighting against rising ticket. Many already have processes for
fighting back. Fighting is not a crime! We can not let our fellow / to be criminalized /
them! This criminalization should be denounced! This is the true face of bourgeois
democracy, hidden two years in the polls and electoral propaganda but showing its claws
arise when the flowers of the resistance!
How long will we handle this? Public transportation should meet the needs of the people,
not the entrepreneurs!
INCREASE OF PASSAGE IS A "TIP OF ICEBERG"
The recent increase in passage shows the future planned by the elites to the city
"wonderful": casualization of transportation / utilities, makeup apace and transformation
of Rio de Janeiro in a tourist town with high costs of living for workers. To ensure that
there is no resistance to federal, state and municipal act in a coordinated manner.
Annihilate indigenous resistance, control spaces popular with the UPPs or simply repress
anyone who dares raise his voice against the rule of capital! Ie, for the rich businessmen
and everything for the people repression and neglect.
BUILD A UNIT OF FIGHT
We live in a difficult river, live and fight in a town controlled by forces most voracious
of national and international capital, real estate speculation, mafia transport and public
policy that represses and turns his back to the poor. Nevertheless, several segments of
the left (political organizations, collectives, unions, CA's, etc..), Social movements and
student courageously took to the streets to confront the criminal readjustment of passage.
Inspired by successful attempts to mobilize popular in other cities, protesters staged
strong initiatives of resistance against the excesses of the transport mafia. This was the
example of the last act against the adjustment, repressed with excessive violence by the
shock. We believe that unity in struggle and organization by the base are the main ways to
defeat the mafia transport, built with the various sectors of the unit left a flag in
common: the defeat of the transport mafia and fight against the forces of readjustment
streets !
WORK FROM BASE
Along with this comes the need to organize ourselves more and more, knowing that even if
we lose the battle, we have a long war ahead. We know that politicians work for the
benefit of entrepreneurs, and as is so every year there will be increasing passages. So we
must be guided and build this fight permanently in living spaces, study and work! This
work is what builds social force and will create with difficulties, challenges and
progress, what we call people power ! If the working class struggle is going through a
difficult time and a bit shy, the importance of the basic work is even greater. Go to the
streets is always the result of mobilization prior to a fight that starts in the
neighborhood or favela, in college, in employment, in spaces of grassroots organization.
Direct action is the result of mobilization daily bases!
INDEPENDENCE OF POPULAR FIELD: SEM sectarianism, divisiveness and rigging
Another important issue is to ensure that the unit is made with the independence of the
popular field. As a libertarian socialist and class know that the fight will not be
starring us, yet we act on it while baking. This means that the struggle is the people who
organized and hit the streets carrying their indignation. The fight can not be captured by
a party, tamed by a legend, why the struggle is a task class. The fight is not
"apolitical" and disorganized. Because in it we graduated, we learn from our mistakes,
grow and build up strength for the next day. We advocate a unit built without sectarianism
and with respect to the different forces of the left. Make a partisan fight is different
to anti-party. This means respecting the different legends that act within the popular
mobilization, uniting the different political forces for common agendas.
Nor do we claim to as anarchist political organization and class "represent" the totality
of what has been called anarchist movement, as we do not require certain Marxist parties
to account for all the Marxists. We are part of a class-anarchist political organization
that works with common principles, criteria for admission, militant strategy and unity
theoretical / ideological. Thus, we reject the association Biased linking ill-reflectively
anarchism clutter. Respect, albeit with differences, the different forms of association,
whether partisan, independent or other political banners that will add up the fight. But
we reject any attempts to divide the movement internally. Sectarianism wherever it comes
from is harmful and class divides.
The effort of several political organizations, collectives, militants and activists is
what ensures the strength of social protest. The popular action organized without serving
the ladder to political careerists should mark the occasion and the strength of our hearts
revolutionary.
Protest is not a crime!
Against the criminalization of social movements!
Create a strong people! Fighting, create, popular!
