Requirements:
B.Com degree B Com Honours in accounting will be an advantage, Completed articles signed off by SAICA, CA (SA) qualification will be an added advantage, 7 years experience in financial management and administration of which 2 years experience should be as a manager in charge of the full financial accounting function. Experience in investment accounting and knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards. Knowledge of Pension Fund and Retirement Benefits Administration will be an advantage. Knowledge of PFMA and National Treasury regulations will be an advantage. Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment. Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. Excellent leadership and management skills. Duties:
The key output from the role is to ensure sound financial governance of investment accounting section. This will be supported by managing investment accounting and reconciled general ledger accounts leading to an unqualified audit report. The main GPAA Finance processes include: Financial accounting (including financial statements and statutory compliance reporting). Projects decision-making. Strategic planning, budgeting and reporting. Financial risk management. Cash flow management. Investment accounting. Facilitation of the GPAA, GEPF, AIPF and TEPF audit.

The Investment manager’s primary goal is to act as the custodian of the GPAA investment accounting and financial statements relating to investments, supervising investment accounting section and supporting the Fund management section in the Finance business unit in order to achieve the divisional strategic goals, by providing effective and efficient corporate and operational financial management, accounting and financial support services. The Finance business unit consists of the investment accounting, unclaimed benefits and re-issues, the accounting of employee benefits, cash flow management, and the accounting function of the different Funds. The key value delivered by this role is to provide timely, accurate and relevant investment financial and management information to the Senior Financial Manager and the Principal Officer in order to make strategic and operational financial decisions.
