The "Supreme Commander of the Bolivarian revolution" is dead, and the world, his fans are
pulling their hair. However, the hatred that it was the conservative right justifies Does
that make the lighthouse in the twenty-first century socialism? The answer is largely
contained in the post-Ch?vez. ---- "There is no supreme savior / Neither god nor Caesar,
nor tribune. "Some should remember these verses of The International! In his speech of
March 6, M?lenchon flamed: " What is Chavez never dies. This is the ideal of humanistic
inexhaustible hope, revolution [...], a source of inspiration. [...] Chavez living was
dangerous, but Ch?vez death is invincible. "He now joins the legend," like Che Guevara
"[ 1 ]. ---- By Jove! Only the Trotskyist group La Riposte (acting within the PCF) was
more uncritical, mourning the "death of a revolutionary, leader" and "defender of the
working class" "in the struggle against capitalism and imperialism . "[ 2 ]
In the rest of the radical left, it has generally been far more nuanced, even being
insulted by the most devout chavezol?tres. Alain Krivine, NPA has thus booed at the rally
tribute to the statue of Simon Bolivar, Paris, because he dared to express some
reservations about the "socialist" Bolivarian revolution of content.
A left-wing nationalism
For its part, AL - the risk to reap its share of insults - recalled what Chavism:
basically, a left-wing nationalism [ 3 ], led by a caudillo in the Latin American
tradition: a charismatic leader revered the masses [ 4 ].
Say this simple truth does not mean that the social balance of the regime is negligible.
But simply that fourteen years in power, he did not move the country towards socialism. No
socialization of the means of production and distribution, not to expropriate the
capitalists, but emergence of a capitalist fraction proch?viste - nicknamed
"bolibourgeoisie" or even "boligarchie" by the Venezuelan anarchists.
What meets the eye most is the lack of economic diversification, which, even from a
nationalist point of view on the left, on the national independence, is a failure. The
Venezuelan economy is still not equipped with a productive and remains confined to a
single oil industry that provides 85% of export earnings and 43% of the revenue of the
state. The extraction itself is done in partnership with multinational companies such as
Total (France), British Petroleum (Great Britain), Chevron (U.S.) and Statoil (Norway).
What is left after this, tirades "anti-imperialist" or "socialism of the XXI century"?
For anarchists' s El Libertario , fighting consistently since 1995, the system will
struggle to maintain its unity after the death of his caudillo. This is an opportunity for
whole sectors of the social movement to emancipate the "red berets" and "spill the staffs
rotten and build from below, a true democracy, with equality, social justice and freedom
"[ 5 ]].
