Column Merten (Republic Square), Metz, Saturday, May 25 15:00-17:00: Manifestation. ---
After a first day of action on May 15 following the conviction of a militant of the CNT to
? 40,000 in damages for blocking railway tracks during the anti-CPE movement in 2006, a
new unit call for protests is launched. --- Let many and many Saturday, May 25 at 15:00 to
the Merten column, Place de la Republique in Metz! --- Another unit initiative against
repression, a little further south. ---- "Being a union is not a crime" ---- If the
current, Gard and national social context more generally, is marked by the seal of a
certain gloom with many businesses closing and unemployment figures for the least concern,
the future is fraught with consequences ... It is Indeed, to predict worsening of the
social context in the coming months with new attacks on the rights of unemployed
Artists-but our pensions.
The recent national agreement (ANI) on securing employment, finally, bears out this evil
against his name as further accentuate more flexibility and uncertainty as to the rights
of employee-es. In the context of repeated attacks against our rights, dominates another
reality: the repression against those who are organized in unions, defend the rights of
their colleagues.
This criminalization is not neutral: it is to intimidate those who do not intend to let it
go, those who intend to enter in resistance against social regression.
And examples, unfortunately, are not lacking. This winter, several activists of the
CGT-PSA-es were sentenced for actions against the closure of Peugeot Aulnay.
This winter, the Nanterre court confirmed heavy fines against 16 activists of SUD-PTT-are
accused of violence against executives of La Poste in the occupation of a sorting center
Tops Seine in May 2011.
On March 23, 2013, a militant of the CNT was sentenced to ? 40,000 of damage and interest
in blocking the Metz station with 800 other people, including socialist activists today
elected officials during the anti- CPE 2006!
In our department, the two most significant cases of trade union repression to have names:
Jean Christophe Jolbert the CGT Haribo and Sebastien Migliore of the CGT Ales.
It is about their cases and to emphasize the solidarity that we have in a meeting Tuesday,
May 7, created a collective unit against anti-union repression. At this meeting, the
suggestion was made to extend the work of the collective support to all victims of
anti-union repression in the Gard. And we would ask the foundation for a permanent space
and unit solidarity is responsive, today and tomorrow, the various cases of repression
against activists as part of their union activities.
For now the signatories below organizations are party to this Collective. We are confident
that in the coming weeks other organizations will join us as it is true that class
solidarity is indispensable given the arbitrary management and government.
Already, we will attend the invitation-es Sebastian Migliore and CGT Ales and participate
at their own initiative on Saturday, May 25 at Cendras, which will be placed under the
sign of union repression.
