CIA released Jihadi mastermind known for encouraging 'lone wolf' attacks to Syria



A Jihadi mastermind who is known for encouraging 'lone wolf' attacks was allegedly released to the Syrian intelligence services by the CIA in 2005, according to a report by Newsweek's Paris bureau chief and Middle East editor Christopher Dickey.

Abu Musab al-Suri was held in a Syrian prison until January 2012 until he was released by the Assad regime.
