Salary: Grade 1: R399 480 - R443 364 per annum. A B-Pharm degree. No experience required. Grade 2: R463 611 -R514 539 per annum. Registration as a Pharmacist OR B-Pharm degree and a minimum of eight (8) years appropriate experience. Grade 3: R530 088 - R562 938 per annum. Registration as a Pharmacist and a minimum of eight (8) years appropriate experience OR B-Pharm degree with a minimum of sixteen (16) years appropriate experience. Salary grade will be determined in accordance with the above requirements as per the OSD. Originally certified certificates of service must be submitted with your application as well as proof of registration as a Pharmacist (where applicable).

Requirements:
- Qualification and years of experience required are indicated above
- A post-graduate qualification in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutics will be an advantage
- Knowledge and application of the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act, 1965 (Act 101 of 1965) and the Regulations pertaining to the Act is essential
- Experience in the medicine regulatory environment will be an added advantage
- Working knowledge, understanding and application of an electronic document management system
- Competence in MS Office (all packages) is essential
- A high degree of dedication, accurate work as well as good organisational and co-ordination skills are essential
- Innovative thinking, initiative and leadership qualities are recommended
- Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- A valid driver’s licence.

Duties:
- Evaluate the quality and efficacy aspects of new applications and registered medicines
- Preparation of evaluation reports for Committee peer review
- Evaluate the quality and efficacy aspects of responses for registration of medicines
- Attend and participate in discussions and present evaluation reports to Committee for peer review
- Prepare Committee recommendations on applications submitted for registration
- Prepare minutes for the Expert Committee and Council
- Compile and update the Pharmaceutical and Analytical guidelines, regulations and SOP’s for registration of medicines
- Communication and resolution of technical queries from applicants
- Assist the Unit Manager in the organisation and co-ordination of work in the unit.
