(en) France, Alternative Libertaire AL #226 - Undocumented student group of Paris VIII: Adjustment or nothing! (fr)

Faced with a socialist government that breaks records expulsions of undocumented and using
logic in each case some student organizations such as the UNEF, the collective of students
abroad-s-era Paris 8 (CEEP8) has initiated a struggle for the legalization of all
undocumented students of the University. ---- Last year the students have called for the
creation of an autonomous collective of international students. The idea was to create a
collective struggle for these students get more rights. Then came the question of
obtaining a residence for everyone that has emerged in the collective. The idea of ??a
collective deposit records emerged in October 2012. The group is well aware that we would
never get the regularization of all and all undocumented students without a collective
struggle. The idea of ??this group is to file deposit from the month of March-April,
records in the prefecture of Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis, creating a balance of power
through mobilization to impose their regularization .

Balance of power

The CEEP8, through its large number - about a hundred people - and its activity has
already started to create a balance of power within the university. Already getting from
the presidency of the college support the collective deposit but obtaining the support of
a large number of male and female students. During the last visit of Fran?ois Hollande in
Saint-Denis, on February 11, the group tried to unfurl a banner "Regularization of
undocumented immigrants." The police did not allow time to deploy its collective banner,
it occurred immediately in college and sequestered for two hours of group members in the
university restaurant. Many students are joined with the group demanding the departure of
the police, which resulted in unrest surrounding the university by the CRS. This police
operation that caused a stir, a general meeting convened on the same day passed a text
support CEEP8. On February 19, the group organized a day of action on the university,
inviting different groups of undocumented migrants. It was decided to take collective
action with the coordination of the undocumented 93 and 75 and with the ninth community.
The first of these initiatives is a rally outside the prefecture in Bobigny (93) Tuesday,
February 26. Regularization collective will and through a massive fight and it is
important to many of these gatherings!
