Aminata Traor? (resigned former Minister of Culture of Mali, initiator of the call Women
of Mali against the war), was invited to Paris to explain his stance against the French
intervention in Mali, during a meeting Public scheduled for April 22 at the AGECA,
entitled "No to war in Mali! Withdrawal of troops! ". ---- At the World Social Forum in
Tunis, she said in effect: "The war that was imposed today in Mali is not a war of
liberation of the Malian people, but a war of plunder resources. I regret that many
activists are wrong to challenge supporting a war is a war of position for a former
colonial power. " ---- Aminata Traor?, who was granted a visa to travel to Berlin from 17
to 19 April, was informed by the German Embassy that France has prevented obtaining a visa
for all Schengen countries. ---- How not to make the link between Aminata Traor? and the
fact that she is persona non grata in France political beliefs?
This censorship of a Malian antiwar activist is outrageous. It is not also the first time
that the French state does so because Oumar Mariko, General Secretary of SADI (African
Solidarity for Democracy and Independence), was returned to Mali in spring 2012 when he
was in transit to get to Roissy USA. He still has no freedom of movement at present.
We demand that the Quai d'Orsay not to obstruct the arrival in France of these activists,
now and in the future.
