Corrie's Simon Gregson tweets soap secrets

I love following (some) of the Coronation Street cast and crew on twitter and when I saw this one that Simon Gregson, who plays Steve McDonald, tweeted the other day, I did a sort of internal 'eek' you do when you see things you shouldn't.  I wasn't going to blog it but Simon's tweet - and accompanying picture have turned up in today's Sun so it's now going on the blog for fans to see as well.

Simon tweeted the above pic of Corrie cast mates eating peanuts.  And in the background you can clearly see the new interior set of the Rovers Return with decoration and stained glass partitions. And at the back, you can clearly see actor Tony Hirst, who plays Paul.  Does this mean Paul stays with Eileen after all and doesn't leave on the bus as was pictured in the tabloids a few weeks ago?

The Sun piece also mentions "props buyer Pete Eccleston".  Is that the same Pete Eccleston who is Antony Cotton's partner?
