An Aquatic Ecosystem: A Large-Scale Diversified Bioreactor with a Water Self-Purification Function
http://5bio5.blogspot.com/2013/04/canada-aquatic-ecosystem-large-scale.html
What is new: a new concept of aquatic ecosystem function. The conceptual innovation which helps to maintain and improve water quality, water safety, and water sustanability.
This paper identified a new function of the entire complex of aquatic organisms (the whole biological community), namely the multi-aspect of water quality upgrading (in other words, water self-purification).
As a result, the paper initiated a series of other publications of the same author during the period 2000 - 2011 on how aquatic organisms contribute to improving water quality and water purification. All the papers of this series confirmed the conclusions of this paper.
