Beware when women feel away from everything that surrounds them and rise up against the
old world. And on that day the world will be born again. "(Louise Michel) Again on March
8, women all over the world set in motion to recall the struggle of so many comrades who
stood up to claim their rights. The time has passed and we have nothing to celebrate, the
fires are still, we are still discriminated against, oppressed and killed. ---- Our
demands have not been met, our children continue without daycare, we remain increasingly
exploited in our workplaces, we continue with the second shift and the women are still
dying in bunches of clandestine abortion clinics, victims of a sexist society that takes
them the right to decide over their own bodies. ---- But there is something not to be
forgotten: The struggle of women should not be separated from the struggle of the entire
working class.
So, tomorrow, 08 March, we will be adding in the street in the act to be held by the Union
of Municip?rios of Porto Alegre - SIMPA to remember that women's struggle is a daily struggle.
We therefore reaffirm our position that the date of March 8 is not a festive occasion, but
for reflection and that the fights do not contain this day instead follow as men and women
continue to be exploited in this capitalist society and macho forces us to live as
unequal, which attacks the rights of the whole working class.
