A storm that sweeps paper companies in France are mostly in the hands of multinational
corporations in northern Europe and ravaged employment despite the country's forest
capabilities. But a small Normandy village resists and saves his factory after three years
of protests: group M to Real Alizay. ---- The union team was welded and general assemblies
met regularly to allow the employee to decide r es suites mobilization. It has an
attractive mix of brilliant actions and negotiations with the prefecture, local elected
officials, departments, management of group M Real (Finnish) and with potential buyers.
But also to reflect on the production itself and its possible evolution. All with the
support of a defense committee pluralistic although some elected PCF were sometimes less
pluralistic than others ...
End of 2009, the plant-fed grants council (PS) of the Eure is threatened with closure,
another 400 employees are inside. For a small city is a major social catastrophe. A
classic period of struggle against redundancies and the closure is initiated. But the
multinational intends to close the site. Production is stopped in spring 2012. However,
the fight does not stop. The battle takes another dimension to find buyers. But suddenly,
it's Real M who refuses to give a plant a perfectly viable competitor to strengthen in
resuming production. And it is in this context that Fran?ois Hollande and Arnaud
Montebourg come during the presidential campaign (as in Florange) to promise a law to
compel an employer to sell his factory when credible buyer said. Promise legally difficult
to implement without outlaw capitalism itself! But if you want you can. As has been said
Alizay could extend the notion of "expropriation for public interest" to safeguard jobs.
But so far we do not feel much determination PS ...
Experience to continue
But a buyer does exist. A boss interested in electrical production capacity of such a
plant. And then there's Double A Thai multinational wishing to shift production of high
quality paper and address the European markets since the Norman plant. This sobering up on
the French capitalists in the global capitalist economy. Though they keep all their
arrogance, our burghers have children just able to manage beach restaurants ...
Real M but still refuses to sell. The Battle of employee-es then made so much noise in the
department last December the General Council (GC) vote (unanimously!) The acquisition of
the site. Done in late January for resale in Double Time promises to boost production in
the spring with 200 employee-es. CG keeping a few hectares of land with the idea of ??
growing industrial area. Remains to ensure the future of key stewards who led the battle
and are on red lists all employers Norman ... And the class struggle continues enriched
with additional experience until the Workers seized themselves factories!
