(en) Canada, Cause Commune #34 - Emancipate this sexuality that we can not see (fr)

Let me be clear, this text dedicated to us, women, is a call to reclaiming our bodies, our
fantasies and our sexuality. In addition, it is not intended to moralizing or treatment.
---- Taboo, smelly, hidden, shameful, frowned, the female sex has long existed in the
world without a word to explain it. At the turn of the 60s, we have seen manners relax and
break the nose of what will be called "sexual revolution." But like Elisa Brown says in
his excellent book The Secret of Women "None of these developments has been able to bridge
the gap between men's pleasure and enjoyment of women." And even after the Hite report?
Psychopop and 80s? What has happened in the liberation of our minds so that it does not
render our privacy? Having conquered a large part of the labor market and educational
institutions, how can we say that we are free, while many of us are still unable to deal
with our own bed? Open so the sheets that we find ourselves face to face with our bodies.

Because it is indeed a recurrent finding when one is interested in sexuality: women do not
know their body or its functioning. Far from me the idea of ??an abstract biology, few
books dealing with very well. However, it remains that sit with a mirror and see her
vulva, how it is done, the shape of the lips and the location of the clitoris is a first
step towards ownership of her privacy. We trimballons still with us for hundreds of years
and sexuality kills sinners female bodies, there is still very little literature
(relevant) on the female sex. We are still dealing with sexual education that glorifies
sex education masturbation among others accepting male masturbation but denies women. So
we must deconstruct our sex education in order to reconstruct a liberating and open to
pleasure women in all its forms.

Which brings me also to think about sexual pleasure in itself. It is said that one third
of women say attain "often or always" orgasm. Which is in itself very little, but the
result is even more striking when contrasted with that of men, which is measured at 90 or
95%. This difference, what to say, this gap is definitely not negligible and is evidence
of the problems faced by women. Abandonment issues, stress, performance issues,
insecurity, discomfort with his body, apparently causes are as varied as the number of
unsatisfied women. Finally, this phenomenon persists in my opinion is alarming that we
talk very little and so many women do not have access to the orgasm is again a difference
between men and women. And I must say that sexual fulfillment is a fundamental element in
our quest for freedom and equality.

In addition, I refuse that this March 8, we exclude the excision of this reflection
summary on female sexuality. The numbers do not decrease and practice exercises even in
industrialized countries. Women who are circumcised suffer from these barbaric practices
both physically and psychologically. Operations have no medical way, the number of women
in necrotic tissue and pelvic pain is unbearable disturbing. But what none of them
escapes, it is the psychological wounds of having been betrayed and maimed by the family.
They have really more benchmark. Cut a part of themselves, they find themselves deprived
of their sexuality. Moreover, it is often a need for symbolic and identity that leads to
surgical reconstruction of their genitals (whose success is mixed).

If I decided to talk about female sexuality on 8 March, is that I strongly believe that
our struggle is reflected in all spheres, even (or especially) in our bed. Today, I appeal
to openness and self-love, the discovery of his body, of his fantasies and desires.
Because as women, we must now overcome codes pornographic invade and again our sexual
imagination. They are the testimony of domination persists and prevents the development of
women.

Several books highly relevant on female sexuality have surfaced at various moments of our
struggle, and few of them will have occupied after Hite report to demonstrate how massive
women to talk to their sexuality in order to 'explicitly see the benefits of the sexual
revolution. Only Eliza Brown has done recently and the results conclude that there is very
little progress. Thus, it is high time to take our sexuality in hand, to shape our image
because sex has power: that free us. And finally, do not let most men never write "how to
make love to a woman" to silence forever the hunter-provider discourse underlying sex man
/ woman. Allow us to explore other avenues.
