(en) Brazil, COLETIVOANARQUISTALUTADECLASSE - Note outrage against racist hazing in FDUFMG (pt

We publish today, our public statement of condemnation of hazing occurred in FADFMG on
Friday, March 15, and its unacceptable content. ---- A "NEW OLD" RIGHT: CONSERVATISM AND
THE NAZI-FASCISM AND ITS TRADITIONAL MASKS OF THE XXI CENTURY ---- With attitudes indirect
jokes "unpretentious" and masked, supported by false discourse of "freedom of expression"
and the motto "all for humor," the right plays their ideology and their close ties. It's a
joke and discourse against the "politically correct" (term coined by the right to
disqualify persons who opt for an ethical stance on social issues) that spreads largely
conservative thought and biased nowadays. It is under the huge umbrella of "humor" that
hides the process of naturalization of racism, sexism and homophobia, so present in our
society.

On March 18, 2013, were released on the internet two photos of hazing occurred inside the
building of the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. In the first
photo, three white veterans with fake mustaches alluding to Adolf Hitler, do a Nazi salute
beside a freshman black painted red tied to a pole. In the second, there is a freshman
painted black, holding a sign reading "Freshman Chica da Silva", chained and held by a
veteran white smiling.

It took only a slightly more detailed search on facebook profile of one of the students
who made the Nazi salute, and we found that he signs pages of white pride, figures Nazi
content right-wing, repressive bodies and figures of today like PMMG, ROTA, Colonel
Telhada and that in some of the photos, there was an emblem of Our Fatherland Movement
Brazil (linked to the group of extreme right fundamentalist "bald Brazil"). We have an
observation: an avowed Nazi-fascist plays the leading role of his ideological intentions
into everyday play in college.

Even if there was a Nazi-fascist infiltration in that context, the response to such events
and attitudes should be given categorically because it unacceptable that such jokes and
pranks are taken as normal and that barremos walk from the far right. The picture of a
black woman, described in "Freshman Chica da Silva" and shackled by a white is a
representation of an entire unscrupulous tragic history of slavery, oppression, racism and
suffering of black people in Brazil. Irony and sarcasm are violence and moral, for we are
as physical violence of lashes that our brothers and sisters in black men and women
received Whites Mill Farms during the hundreds of years of slavery in Brazil.

The people have memory! In response to the attacks on the right to destroy it, just
because it is the accumulation of challenge, struggle and conquest during the
consolidation of the country and its history, we affirm that people have rather his
memory, and always claims his actions. The abolition of slavery was not granted for any
princess! It was conquering Maroons warriors, "Zombies" by "Dandaras" black people
organized in defense of their freedom and sovereignty cultural, social and political. Here
is a brief elucidation of memory that will never be destroyed or hidden as the fascists
want. And that memory is in defense - and from it - we say NO to the naturalization of
reactionary violence against blacks, women, homosexuals, workers, the unemployed, the
marginalized and forced by society segregat?ria criminalizing etc.

In this sense, our note published this repudiation and some of our reviews on the event,
making a call to students as to all working people, black, mulatto, brown, working women,
black women, we do permanent combat such manifestations that hurt our history, our memory
and that follow this strategy right and weaken us secretly ideologize social spaces where
they belong, spreading hatred, bigotry and prejudice.

To these fascists, repeated in loud word of command of the comrades of the Spanish
Revolution in 1936: NOT PASS!

WE TOD @ S CHICAS DA SILVA!
