A former UK government minister is "set to be arrested over child rape claims."

An ex-Conservative Cabinet minister is set to be arrested by police over claims he abused boys and raped a young girl.

The former Conservative minister is being investigated by police after a woman came forward to claim he raped her as a child.

Jason Swift has links to Baby P. In 1985, 14-year-old Jason Swift was killed by a child-abuse gang. Jason is believed to have lived in Islington council's Conewood Street children's home. A close male relative of Baby P reportedly recruited boys from children's homes in Islington for the child-abuse ring. Islington children were reportedly sent to Jersey, the island linked to child abuse.

The former Conservative government minister is suspected to be linked to Sidney Cooke who tortured and killed 14-year-old Jason Swift in 1985.

Cooke's ring may have included Sir Jimmy Savile, Sir Cyril Smith and top judges.

A former detective has told the Sunday Mirror that in 1986 the minister was photographed at a premises in North London where boys taken, from Kings Cross, were taken to be raped.

The former detective says that, back then, up to 16 top people were due to be arrested.

But the police operation was suddenly closed down.

The Mail on Sunday reported that children from Islington childrens homes were taken to the 'child abuse' island of Jersey 'on unofficial visits'. A close relative of Baby P was reportedly involved with the Islington child abuse ring.

According to the former detective, evidence of Cooke's pedophile ring, including pictures, disappeared from the file and any mention of the men involved also vanished.

According to the former detective, Commander Peter Spindler, the curent head of the Paedophile Unit, has had a secret briefing on preparations to arrest the ex-minister in the next few weeks.

Sidney Cooke's pedophile ring has been linked to up to 20 child murders.

Cooke was believed to have murdered seven-year-old Mark Tildesley but the notorious Crown Prosecution Service decided not to bring charges.

Cooke was released early from prison in 1998.

Leon Brittan, Baron Brittan of Spennithorne is a former Vice President European Commission and former Home Secretary of the United Kingdom. Leon Brittan was born to parents of Lithuanian Jewish descent. He is a cousin of Malcolm Rifkind. At one time, Brittan was responsible for MI5 and Rifkind was responsible for MI6.

Did Leon Brittan do enough to investigate child abuse?

Sidney Cooke, Leslie Bailey, Robert Oliver, and Lennie Smith, were imprisoned in 1989 for the manslaughter of Jason Swift.

In 1998, Cooke was let out of prison eight years early.

There have been allegations that very powerful people have been involved in a child-abuse ring connected to Islington children's homes. ( Jersey child abuse link to Islington, London)

In 1982 Margaret Hodge (nee Oppenheimer) became Islington council leader.

She became a close friend of Tony Blair, who lived in Islington, a few doors away from Hodge.

In February 1990 Liz Davies and David Cofie, senior social workers, discovered evidence of sex abuse of children and reported it to a residents' meeting attended by Mrs Hodge.

In May 1990 Mr Cofie and Ms Davies were told by Lyn Cusack, assistant director of social services, to stop interviewing children about the abuse claims.

On 1 May 1997 Tony Blair moved from Islington to Downing Street.

In June 2003 Mrs Hodge was made minister for Children

Peter Power, who was also 'involved in' the London Bombings of 7/7

In 1987 a fire hit King's Cross underground station in London.

"Just two months before the King’s Cross Fire, pop duo, The Pet Shop Boys released their second record entitled Actually.

"The final track on the album is a melancholy song entitled, King’s Cross which, in a rather bizarre coincidence, appears to foresee a disaster at the station with the lyric:

"'Only last night I found myself lost, by the station called King’s Cross… dead and wounded on either side, you know it’s only a matter of time…'"

Allegedly, the fire was started deliberately.

"Inspector Peter Power was sent to the scene of the King's Cross fire to co-ordinate the efforts of the emergency services.

"He ran the Metropolitan Police's forward command post for much of the evening and most of the night on 18 November 1987."

King's Cross arson theory 'being ignored'
Author: TONY DAWE

The theory that an arsonist caused the King's Cross Underground fire is being unfairly dismissed at the public inquiry into the disaster, according to some of the lawyers and experts taking part.

As the inquiry into the fire, in which 31 people died, enters its third week today, tensions are mounting among the rejection of the arson theory before evidence about it has even been heard.

Dismay has been voiced privately to Mr Desmond, Fennell, QC, chairman of the inquiry, and may have led him to a surprise decision last week to give lawyers concerned about possible arson more time to prepare their cases.

One of the interested parties told The Times. 'It really is outrageous that the evidence of some witnesses is being dismissed before they are even called and the evidence of others is being ignored.'

Council for London Regional Transport and its subsidiary London Underground have told the inqiury that arson cannot be rejected, but one leading lawyer who is taking part said yesterday: 'While London Transport would like to keep the arson theory in play, the inquiry is firmly of mind to say it is not a runner.'

The discovery of two separate incidents at King's Cross on the night of the fire three months ago added credence to the arson theory.

Both appear to have been dismissed already by Mr Roger Henderson, QC, who is presenting the evidence gathered for the inquiry on behalf of the Treasury Solicitor.

Three witnesses came forward to say that at between 7.15 and 7.20 pm. immediately before the fire is believed to have started on a Piccadilly Line escalator, they saw a man in blue overalls climbing in and out of an inspection hatch at the foot of the Piccadilly Line escalators.

Inquiry told of suspicious man near Tube fire
Author: RODNEY COWTON, Transport Correspondent

The inquiry into the King's Cross London Underground fire disaster was yesterday told of the 'disturbed look' on the face of a mysterious, unidentified man in blue overalls .

Three witnesses described having seen him shortly before the fire, which killed 31 people, was discovered. He was near a trap-door leading into a machine room at the foot of the escalator on which the inferno began.

There has so far been no explanation of what this man was doing. His presence has led London Regional Transport to say that arson cannot be ruled out.

Mr Ilfay Mehmet, of Paddington, west London, said he saw a man in dark overalls 'going underneath the ground'.

The man caught his eye. 'I don't know why he did. The disturbed look on his face told me that everything was not as it seemed', Mr Mehmet said.

Mr Dennis Hills, a part-time cleaner at the station, described seeing a man beside the trap-door close to the wall.

'I heard a clang and the man walked away. For some reason I thought he was up to something. He may have looked up and seen me in my overalls with my London Transport symbol on it, and in my opinion he moved away very quickly.'

The arson theory was promoted widely by London Regional Transport and some newspapers.

Enquiries by Det Supt Anthony Clift of the British Transport Police invited Mr David Halliday, a fire investigator at the Metropolitan Police Forensic Science Laboratory, to examine the scene and within two days Mr Halliday had reached the preliminary conclusion that there was no evidence to suggest that the fire had been started deliberately.

Forensic scientist Mr David Halliday has also given expert witness evidence for the crown in the following cases:

Dhiren Barot 'Gas Limos and Radiation Project' August 2004
